Range on instrument display

It stops telling you miles til empty when you get down to 30 miles, and then the fuel pump symbol starts flashing.

I was a bit confused regarding mileage fluctuating so I googled it and got this.

Mine said 600 miles the last time I filled up. Highest ever.
