Vehicle Control System Fault - New MG ZS EV 2022

It's a software update mate
I agree, they will probably fix this by software.

The only interesting thing about this, except for "When" is "how"

I still in all of my naivity hope this is an update that can be pushed via OTA, if not, i will have to go to the nearest MG garage, 115 miles from my home. (And 115 miles return) to have it applied.

What we are seeing here, is THE number 1 reason, why OTA is vitally important in todays cars, which are more "computer" than "car".

Had mine fixed 2 weeks ago, software update to VCU and EVCC

Not that I have the car yet, but does anyone have any details of the VCU and EVCC updates? Version numbers etc, so that others know what to ask for...

Well well, if they have the update ready already i am certainly going to ask/demand they do this update, while it is in, for the fitment of the towbar i bought, but was out of stock.

Especially since the shop is located so far away that i need to (fast)charge on the way home :)

None of the OBD2 apps work yet on the new MGZSEV so I can't get the details from the car, but when one does then I'll report back with the software versions that I have now since the update.

What kind of ODB-II equipment did he have.

I wonder if a "simple" ELM327 will do the trick.

My current car has this idea, once a year, if it is very hot, and i really push it on an onramp for the motorway, and i have all of my family or something other, that is "heavy" in the car, it will go into limp home mode, and complain about turbo boost. (Code related to turbo boost)

I have this ELM327 bluetooth dongle that i can connect to the car, and erase the code, and it will not be back for another year or more.

It would be great if this simple device would be able to erase the fault. It is not very large and have lived in a small "glovebox" in my current car, and i wanted to transfer it to the ZS.

if it is OBD-II engine codes, that needs deleting, it should theoretically be possible, as they are pretty standardized, both in format and in how to delete them i think.

I've had the dreaded "Vehicle Control Fault" in the small hours of Sunday over the weekend. After trying to plug in and top up for the drive home. Ended up trying multiple chargers none worked. Until AA reset the codes.

I'd really appreciate knowing which OBD scanner I can purchase ready for next time?
