Warped Charging Cover

Has anyone had this issue with the charging flap. It has started to stick out in the top corner. Raised it with the garage and they are supposedly contacting MG for a claim but said it would be ‘unlikely’!

How long have you had the car? I believe the flap is one of the limited warranty items IIRC.

Have you tried giving it a really firm press?

The cover is mounted onto the flap mechanism.

I can only see it being a press fit of some sort.
Might be bonded on though?

Yes I’ve tried pressing and squeezing it together as I saw a gap - but I see yours is similar.

If you fancy it, whilst you have it open like that, put it between both palms and give it another squeeze.

Forgive me if that's the way you have already tried.

I just pictured you may of been pressing firmly on it whilst it is shut.?

I have the same problem, the flap is made up of two parts: the black inner flap on a hinge and a body coloured outer panel.
Thus outer panel became unclipped and I am struggling to refit it, any ideas please???

It actually fixed itself after a few days in the sun. ! Mine wasn’t unclipped, just warped.

Thus outer panel became unclipped and I am struggling to refit it, any ideas please???

The outer panel slides on little 'rails' to secure it to the inner hinge assembly. There's a 'barb' on the inner hinge that has to pulled back to allow the outer body coloured panel to slide off.
It should then be apparent how it all slots together and you can slide it back on properly seated, assuming nothing has broken of course.

Had the same slight warped problem, managed to fix it with a bit of kit I've had in the house and not used in over 30 years- - - the wife's hairdryer
