Staying in the Metropole actually. Very comfortable. Had a bit of trouble finding Caliban, until we realised we were on the wrong level in the car park. Now at Pease Pottage services having breakfast. Elsie and I are having rolls with sausage from Costa Coffee, Caliban is having electrons from Gridserve. Got here on 7%, 12 miles still showing, so plenty of range. There's a grey MG4 on the next charger.

The best porage I ever had was at a B&B near Greenock. I was doing a multi drop delivery up to Scotland and back down to Manchester via Glasgow, East Kilbride, Gretna and a couple of others I can't remember.

But I'll never forget that brekkie!

It was in the days before satnav so if you didn't have a road atlas with guides and town maps, you were stuffed. I had a lot, but not many for North of the border.

I ended up getting to a crossroads being in the wrong lane at the lights so I got out and had a word with the HGV driver next to me who said "Nae worries, laddie, nip in fronta me!"

Then, when I struggled to find a B&B, I went to the local police station who were good as gold.
