Where to start.....

I ordered my XPower through my employers salary sacrifice scheme back in mid April, after some initial delays, 3 month delivery turned into nearly 5 months, but eventually the car was delivered to the dealership on September 4th.

Then the fun really began, firstly our company Chief Financial Officer refused to electronically sign the finance documents, this dragged on for a number of weeks until they were provided with printed copies.

Then because of these delays the leasing company then decided to put the lease price up, which then let to arguments between the lease company and the electric car scheme, finally this got sorted out with no cost increase.

Finance signed, lease signed and delivery arranged for Today (Dec 1st), some seven and half months later.

Got a phone call around 10.30am this morning from the lease company, the car had broken down on the motorway on its way to me , so they were recovering it back to the dealership in Crewe !!

Last I've heard is that the dealer is going to get it on the ramp ASAP and I should know more later today.

I have now reached the point where I feel like I no longer want the car, apart from the shenanigans with the CFO, my employer has been very supportive as I should have handed my company car back in September but they have allowed me to keep it.

If I cancel the car I have a £500 cancellation fee and I then still need to sort a car out. Just what I wanted before Christmas

It seems a shame to reject the car and go back to square one just because some people can't shuffle paperwork. If you're worried that the breakdown during deliver is a harbinger of things to come, you do have some time to test it out before you make any irrevocable decisions.
The only issue with that is there are some well documented issue with members trying to deal with leasing companies in relation to faults rejections

Having one so close are you tempted

If the X-Power had been available when I got my car I'd have been very tempted. But at the time I didn't know when it would become available, or how much it would cost. But realistically I prefer the SE trim to the Trophy trim, and Caliban suits me fine. I do occasionally tell Christine that I'm jealous, though!

You've already been through so much with it i'd just wait at that point and have a nice late Christmas present.

I went through that having had to wait 10 months for delivery ,with no information from the dealer whatsoever. When it eventually arrived at the dealership , the dealer went on holiday for two weeks and would not hand it over, so it was sat there in 40c heat at 100% for three weeks ( NMC battery ) as the garage staff thought it was a SE. Much complaining later they managed to bring it down to 90% but I was thinking my brand new car was already degraded. There were other concerns and tribulations too long to go into here, but the bottom line was that I was almost resentful when picking it up . The dealer could not understand the grumpy , underwhelming demeanour of his latest customers, who would normally be giddy with anticipation. All that changed 10 minutes after setting off in the new ride and since then its got better and better .... and you have the X Power , all will change after giving it its first boot full, enjoy.

I got my XPower through a company leasing scheme and it is the first time I used this method for acquiring a car. That fact you as the person who will be driving around in it have little or no say in anything to do with the car was strange.

I tired to source the car from a local dealer (who had one in stock) but the leasing company had no arrangement with that dealer so decided to source it from one of their dealers. I did point out that the fact this dealer was located 400 miles away from me might be an issue but hey ho.

So on delivery day after 400 miles on the back of a low loader the car was delivered. I went through all the checks recommended by contributors to this forum and it turns out the front passenger window was not working. Call to the lease company who called the supplying dealer and I was told to reject the car. So off it goes back on the low loader for the 400 mile trip back to the supplying dealer to sort out the problem. Two weeks later all sorted and another 400 mile trip back to me for the delivery. So this low emission EV had to travel 1,200 miles on the back of a diesel low loader to get to me.

Then because my delivery date got revised the paperwork for HMRC for the BIK had to get changed to make sure I was not taxed from the wrong date.

Since then it has all been as it should apart from the fact I have not been able to use an MG dealer for servicing (have to let the lease company sort that out) and that means no software or map updates.
