MG4 Trophy Focus Warning Alert (Fix incoming)

Collected my MG4 Trophy today and the drowsiness sensor sound seems to have been permanently disabled by the dealer but the coffee cup and warning triangle still appear on the display. Apparently, this is going to be resolved by MG at some point. The dealer also confirmed that the latest batch of MG4's do not have the sensor on the steering column.

Didn’t seem to work for me. The setting came back on 🤷
Didn't work for me, either. It's turned itself on again.

Edit: Today I got an alert saying that there's a fault with the system and now I get a warning triangle. The coffee cup remains top left but I don't get any drowsiness warning messages. It keeps life interesting when your car does different things each day!:ROFLMAO:

Drowsiness warning ⚠️

Anyone figured out how to turn this off permanently? It was driving us insane today! Turn it off on system setting - a few minutes later off it goes again and has re-enabled itself - rinse & repeat
I have just picked up my new MG4 Trophey Long Range and it looks like they are no longer putting this in the cars, no sensor on my steering wheel.

Mine's been in that state for a few weeks. Warning message on starting, coffee cup and triangle. It would be nice to declutter the dash a bit though as it does verge on info overload.

Did you have to pay extra? 😉. I'm thinking that MG will bring out a new top range version with half of the extras taken away!

Mine is the same and has been for a few weeks, was back in at the dealer this week and they've said that's how it is for the moment until MG issues a fix.

A pragmatic solution.

the latest batch of MG4's do not have the sensor on the steering column

Interesting, but those cars were built before the first cars were delivered so if a problem existed why wasn't it dealt with on the first cars before delivery?

I suppose it is possible they just ran out of them and decided to omit and we'll get the sensor back again.
Here in Norway a dealer told me that cars sceduled to be delivered in 2023 should be without the drowsiness camera/alarm.

And yes it's a dealbreaker for me, as the alarm was distracting me all the time while driving. 3 hours of hell with the bong bong, my wife was raging at the bongs and bings from this system as a passenger as it made her feel unsafe because she could tell I was distracted from it.

Wil test the car again and try to turn of the sound as described here.

I was living with it silenced but popping up on screen. Mine went in for updates while getting the TPMS calibrated and now sounds constantly with this error. The options to silence and disable below the tows mode are gone. It's practically undrivable and is sitting at the dealer until it's fixed or silenced.

Picked mine up from Chorley and the drowsiness senor was also disabled, coffee cup and warning triangle still appear on the display which does not bother me, my friend picked hers up from Chorley and her car was also disabled, hopefully these warning lights will be removed at first service.

Few days ago I was told by MG dealer that that driver's drowsiness yellow warning triangle is actually an sw error and they are waiting for MG to send them an update to fix that. Till that day, just ignore the warning.

Does that mean that there is no drowsiness monitoring at all then for the driver if the sensor has been removed? Did you get a discount seeing as the car is advertised with that system and now no longer has it? Or does it monitor a different way do you know?

I’d consider paying them to remove it. It isn’t a system I want on a car.

My dealer mentioned that MG had added the system as a helping hand to adding safety features to the car, and allowing it to hit a higher NCAP rating

I'm sure when it's patched in the software, and works as intended (can be turned off), it'll be ok
