Signed out again.. Anybody else keep getting asked to sign back in with their password after an hour or so. Quite annoying! hope that it's just server issues etc like others reporting?
Yes, I am having this problem. Eventually logged an and thought”this isn’t too bad”. Now I can log in- service unavailable, doesn’t recognise me etc. hopefully a bandwidth issue wi the sever

Seems to be server issue now. I logged in fine a few hours ago, but get logged out every hour! now i either get "Failed to get [mobile number] user info from tenant [459771]" or Service unavailable.
Same here

That's strange, I have a @ in my password and it works fine?
It’s really weird, literally wouldn’t let me type the symbol. Nothing surprises me any more with this app. Glad they are at least trying to keep it updated though.

I uninstalled it and reinstalled, and I've got it now. I can't find the charging management screen and I can't find out how to pre-heat the car, but otherwise we're all good!
Those are behind the ">" symbol on the battery & AC boxes on the main page.
The seats (if you have a Trophy) are at the bottom.

If you tap the battery % icon on the main screen it will take you to the charging management area, if there is a > in the area, then there is a sub menu

I’ve had to reset my password as it wouldn’t let me type the @ symbol, which was in my old one. Took that out of the new one and now it works for me. For how long is anyone’s guess!
I have tried that. But it still wants the country code as my login details have my phone number. And the flipping country code is greyed out still. And I have reinstalled the app 3 times already. Such a nuisance.

I tried the app again a short while ago. It asked me to login again (Token expired). This time I used my phone number to login (selecting UK +44 first, which worked - and quickly) and it logged in OK. I noticed the remaining range was in KM rather than miles, even though I'd selected Imperial previously. I went to settings, clicked on the (pre-selected) Imperial option and then just saved it again and distance was back in miles. Maybe it'll remember Miles next time as I've set it for both login mechanisms, 🤷‍♂️

No biometric login, but any action that requires entering a PIN code (e.g. sending HVAC commands) is substituted with the fingerprint system. (As it happened the cabin preheat function failed due to server issues).

seems to be dependant on what you orginally registered with either email or mobile as everybody only seems to be able to login with one or other.

If mobile, I had to take the 0 off the start, and if greyed out still, check you ticked accept terms under the login button.

I've logged in using both mechanisms. (Email and Phone - and yes, the phone number has to drop the leading 0 ... it was ever thus with the iSmart app).

I can login with either phone or email, but the login token only last an hour at the moment and resets all the preferences like units of measure etc.

That's good that others can login with both then. I guess it's just the hit and miss logging in issues in general that is the problem then. I still cant get in with either login for the last hour or so, despite logging in fine earlier - time to stop testing and let MG sort it out it guess.

The issues are with the backend which is Amazon EC2 and Amazon R2 servers.

EC2 handles the logic of the server commands and responsibilities, R2 is authentication l.

As such it's an Amazon issue not MG as they don't own the servers
MG own the app though - and its terrible !

I did the update on Android, successfully today.
For this I went to Play store directly and launched the process over there.
After that I had to login again, scan the QR-code in the car etc... and finally this worked.
This new version looks better and hopefully has less bugs :)

Just because they hire a cloud service doesn't make them not responsible. You can make a cloud service as scalable as you want it to be, but that's in the hands of the developers, not the backend that hosts it. In this case, the developers did a terrible job, and it's not fair, or correct, to blame AWS for this.

"Sorry guys but the provider we picked doesn't keep an auth token for longer than 1 hour, didn't have the capacity to support all our users and we couldn't possibly know this before releasing this app to all owners of an MG EV"

This doesn't compute for me, sorry.

If you log in with your existing account, there's no requirement to rebind your car. It seems like you might have logged in with the wrong or a new account. Ensure that you log in using either your phone number or email address, depending on your initial choice when creating the account.

In my experience, all I had to do was log in with the correct account, and there was no need to rebind the car.
I only have the one account.
I log into the app with it & can log into the car with it. I can also log into app then scan the QR code on car to login that way as well.
Unfortunately, on the app it still just asks to bind the car but there isnt an option on the car like there was when originally setting up on old version of app.
