    An unexepected event this morning!

Ah! Thanks, I did not know that. It makes sense, I must have pressed the key accidentally.

    An unexepected event this morning!

Had the car on charge last night (MG5 pre-facelift) and when I went to remove charging cable this morning I noticed all four windows were wide open. As it had rained in the night the seats were all wet. Windows closed fine, and all all seems normal otherwise with the car and it is charged up...

What depth of water can an Electric Car MG go through?

I was told the main battery has the same specifications as a submarine as regards protection against water ingress. There is also a famous clip of a Tesla driving through water over its front bonnet in a submerged underpass passing other nearby stranded ICE cars.

I guess this was due to incorrect installation, but may be someone might like to comment on how this can happen...

    Solar Powered MG

I'm just coming up to my second year of ownership of an MG5 and had a wall charger for as long, but have only just started being able to use the charger in solar mode. In the past it would always draw from the grid rather from the solar panels, whenever I elected solar or solar + mode. After...

    How worried should we be?

Headlines in todays paper! "Ministers are warning that Chinese electric cars imported to the UK will enable Beijing to spy on British citizens" Is it another of those conspiracy theories?

    Windscreen replacement

National windscreens replace my front window last year and told me that re-calibartion was unecessary. I haven't noticed any problems in the past year and all seems to be working quite normally.

    Off peak charging cost

I invested £3K which should generate 5,000 kWh about half of my energy use. They say that should give me a savings rate of 6.40p/kWh or £327 in the first year. Kirk Hill has been delayed a month so should see a return starting from next January. Also have solar panels and home battery which...

    MG5 Front Collision Avoidance

I am very grateful to ACC. Yesterday, on a dual carriageway a car in front stopped suddenly (looks like it had missed a turning) I was looking at console at the time and my brakes came on a second before I saw the hazard and a collision was avoided. It was the first time in 18mths ownership...

Bit of reassurance for the MG5

I have had my MG5 for a year now and what I do like about it in this cold weather is to put defroster and heated seats on 5 minutes before use and you get into a warm and derosted car, no need to scrape off the ice!

Help! Car suddenly stopped delayed charging

I think it is more of a problem with your charger rather than your MG. I have a Project-EV charger that has been faultless since installing it last year. When you click pre-set charging on the app with your car connected to charger does it accept it? You should get a charge pending message on...

    Updated Octopus Go Charging Costs

Topped up my MG5 last night with the 7.5p/kWh new rate. Put in 26.9kWh at a cost of £2 which is 65p more than the old rate, but still a saving on petrol/diesel equivalent.
