cruise control
Cruise control (also known as speed control, cruise command, autocruise, or tempomat) is a system that automatically controls the speed of an automobile. The system is a servomechanism that takes over the throttle of the car to maintain a steady speed as set by the driver.
Help...I thought the auto cruise control seemed a little jerky today and thought I'd check that the front camera wasn't dirty (although I think it mainly uses radar anyway).
I went to wipe it and noticed that the lens on the front camera, which sticks out from the front bumper was cracked!! Not...
I just did my first long motorway trip in the ZSEV. I love the ACC but I notice if the car slows from say 70mph to 60mph because of traffic ahead when it stops accelerating and starts breaking you don’t get any regenerative breaking so nothing on the automatic slow down is going back into the...
I have a ZS which was new last August but I have only started using cruise control recently. I have noticed that when the cruise control slows the car, because I am approaching a slower moving vehicle, there doesn’t appear to be any regeneration happening - no green light on the power side of...
Not a fan of the adaptive cruise control as it jerks and brakes like a bucking bronco. Is there anyway to have cruise control without the adaptive bit (ie the car maintains a set speed until you accelerate or brake).
I have tried the Speed Limit Assist setting whereby you set an upper speed...
Hi there
we own a MG 4 EV trophy long range. My Mrs is the driver and she is not fun of the adaptive cruise control. it behave very strangely sometimes. for instance, just this past Sunday we going to the charging point to charge our car and the car just braked for no reason in the middle of the...
Maybe I'm missing something but looking at the manual (don't yet have my Mk2 MG5 in the flesh). I can't see what the full MG Pilot offers on top of the functionality you get with adaptive cruise control on and lane keep assist on.
Can anyone clarify please?
After a few weeks of trial and error, I have found the easiest and most effective way of using the adaptive cruise control is this:
If you want to not have the car steer, but set a speed and follow the car ahead, use the adaptive cruise setting.
If you want the car to steer and set the speed...
has anyone had problems with the lights when on automatic going out and the brightness of the infotainment getting brighter, have had this fault for nearly a year, but when take it into the garage, they cannot replicate said fault. today i got car back after 5 days , they still cannot find...
Hi, can someone detail the differences between Traffic Jam Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control on the ZS EV please? For me they look like the same thing. Thank you
,
Is this true (If you have both settings on)?? - the car will accelerate and decelerate in the forward direction when in ACC (Green on dash?) according to the car infront- but will it also steer (if you were on a gentle bend such as a motorway ?) - I havnt yet attempted these yet - but thought...
Hello, everyone.
As good as the car is, the adaptive cruise control can be really improved as now it gives me 15% INCREASE of energy USAGE compared to the same distance driven without using it. And it blocks the KERS system as well, and now this is outrageous. Any ideas how to bypass this and...
Has anyone else noticed that the regen braking does not seem to work when on cruise control? I have now seen the same thing in two HS PHEVs, so thinking that this might be a common thing.
When in adaptive cruise control, the power does not go below 0 % when the car slows down. If I disengage...
A quick question regarding cruise control.
My existing car, yes I’m still waiting for my MG, will only allow the cruise control to be set to 30mph or more. Is there a similar restriction on the MG Mk2 LR ?
Hi everyone, I have an MG ZS EV Trophy Long Range face-lift 22 plate, and have a problem.... the cruise control has stopped working when I press the button on the end of the stalk. It switches on and off by moving the stalk forwards and backwards, but will not set at a given speed. Only stopped...
Hi could anyone help I have had my HS plugin hybrid for 2weeks now and when I'm in cruise control and the car self break dose the car go into regen , I've noticed it doesn't go in to the minus ....?
Hi all,
Sorry if covered elsewhere, I did do some searching, but couldn’t find it on the forums or in the manual.
Is there a way to change the default distance on the ACC to be the minimum? When driving on a motorway it seems to be too harsh. Someone pulls in front and then it goes down to...
I recently took delivery of a ZS EV and noticed that the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) was inoperative. No matter what I did I could not get the ACC to engage.
After reading through the owners manual it appears there is a logic connection between the Traction Control System (TCS), the Stability...
I have been doing some longer drives and enjoy cruise control but I keep feeling that if car on front of me slammed the breaks my car would no chance of stopping. Maybe because I'm used to human reflexes and feel like I need about 2/3more space to safly stop at 70 mph. Maybe cruise control will...
Does cruise control use regenerative braking to control speed? I have not seen power drop in negatives like I normally see with KERS when regularly driving so I'm not sure.
Have anyone done ant testing is cruise control better for efficiency on a long drive or is manual control better?
Warning: Newb Question!
I did a search on this but failed to find any posts which explain how to resolve this seeming "problem", so my apologies if it is covered elsewhere in the forum. Just point me to the appropriate thread!!!
As received, new, last Friday (March 25th), when trying to...
