cruise control
Cruise control (also known as speed control, cruise command, autocruise, or tempomat) is a system that automatically controls the speed of an automobile. The system is a servomechanism that takes over the throttle of the car to maintain a steady speed as set by the driver.
Checked out the adaptive cruise control today, glad I had my seatbelt on, it worked, maybe not as fast as I would have liked but that might have been in the settings.
Hi guys,
I've never used cruise control in any vehicle before but decided to try it out on my ZS EV last week. I was driving along an A road with a 50 mph speed limit which was a bit bendy at times but nothing that bendy to necessitate not driving at the speed limit. While driving along this...
I am considering bying an MG EV ZS. However, I am a hughe user of cruise control (al roads, all trafic) used to control it from the steering wheel. I am wondering how comfortable it is with this MG seperate handle. Any experience?
Update as of 27 December 2021: if you're having issues with ACC, check how your front number plate is installed; it could be blocking the radar - see post #17 below.

Hi all,
First post from a happy new MG ZS EV owner. I'd love to hear about your experience with adaptive cruise...
Hi,
Has anyone else had issues with their adaptive cruise control?! I press the button and there is no response from the cruise control at all. Does anyone have a suggestion how I can reset?
Best wishes,
Matt
Does anyone have a simple step by step guide of how to correctly engage the Adaptive cruise control please.I have tried reading it in the manual and gave me a headache 🤕
thanks in advance
Hi All,
New MG5LR owner here. Moved over from e-golf.
I do like to use the cruise control, especially as a significant portion of my travel is often in 50 zones with average speed cameras.
I can't seem to find a way to increment or decrement the set speed by 1mph. Moving the stalk up and...
Hello everyone,
New MG ZS EV Exclusive owner here in #Teamwhite - had it since the 31st July and went away on holiday 2 days later so only really been driving it for the past week or so. I had the windows tinted before I picked it up as I didn't like the clear windows! I have come out of a...
Whilst driving on motorways, I often use cruise control. But I think I’d like to be able to set the power use instead. For instance, set the power at 10, if I’m at a speed I’m happy with, then I’ll obviously go a bit slower up hill and faster downhill. I’d also like to be able to set it to zero...
Has anyone noticed that when you use ACC, you don't get any negative values on the power meter, I can't say for sure, but that implies that it is not using the KERS for regen. However going down a hill, or when someone pulls into the space, you can feel it pull back, but still no negative power...
Is it just me, or is the car way less efficent when using the cruise control or MG Pilot? I seem to be able to drive the car far more efficently "manually". Don't get me wrong, both systems work incredibly well, though it is still a little disconcerting.
I know there have been discussions on the cruise control not using regen on the ZS, but today I found out regen is used!
I was going down a hill with the ACC set to 20MPH and the car started to gain momentum over the set speed. Changing the KERS mode increased or decreased the braking action of...
Anyone else had this?
Twice today, had cruise control on at 30mph, happily going along - no car in front etc.
Suddenly the car starts slowing down with a weird almost grinding noise for a couple of seconds.
A bit like a not in gear properly noise but not quite a bad as that.
A lot louder than...
It looks like MG have updated the MG5 spec on their website.
The MG website now says "Cruise Control" instead of "Cruise Control with Speed Limiter".
Is this another feature that's just for decoration?
Most the dealers websites still say, "Cruise Control with Speed Limiter".
