EV opposition in the media is ramping up

An on board fire suppression system from factory similar to what race cars have would be good. Itll add weight to the car though
You cannot supress battery fires, once they've entered the thermal runaway stage you have to take the heat away (nigh on impossible) or let it burn out which doesnt take long. The heat does of course cause neighbouring cells in the battery to start the thermal runaway process so a chain reaction amongst all of the cells is likely extending the time that the fire is ongoing.

My EVSE is in my attached double garage, and where the car is parked. After researching, I decided to buy and install a heat alarm in there, rather than a smoke alarm. It’s connected to smoke alarms inside my bungalow, so should provide an audible warning of anything untoward in the garage.
You can install a combined

Photoelectric Smoke & Heat Alarm that does both
