How Low Can You Go .... (SoC)

0 at the exit on A road, with Regen I arrived with 1% at the station.
I started with 70%, full A road at 130 km/h (edit : 80 Miles/h)

I lost myself on that, I was focus on my school BUS when I was young which displaying max speed 100 km/h-65 m/h, so I made a mistake.
And to be honnest, I was Alone il the car, summer time (july) with A/C so it was an easy ride.

With 4 people in the car, it's not the same range...

Definitely the lowest we've gone and probably the lowest for the car as I doubt the dealership let it go so low when it was a demo car.

Will finally get to do a proper balance charge from under 10% !!! I think the previous ones were from around 11-13%

Any need to worry?
Pebbles was very worried when the GOM figure was lower than the number of miles left on the journey.

I was quite confident that we would make it but told her we could stop at a rapid charger 10 miles from home.

I was assuming we would be ok since it took 35% of the charge to get there so it shouldn't take too much more than that to get home.

The route involved changes in altitude and the point where the GOM was reporting less than the remaining distance was a point at which we were at a relatively high point. I knew it would be more downhill on the way home.

We didn't need the rapid charge and all was well.

When a chap on YT tested mg4 he found out that the car will do another 15miles after 0% SOC before it's completely flat.

That's what battery buffer is for - 61 kWh usable from 64 kWh battery 👍

Couple of weeks ago I got it down to 2% and the car was a bit more sluggish but still going. I notice when less than 50% it really doesn’t like motorway speeds.

I once (intentionally) went to 0% and maybe 1-2km on the GOM with 51kWh. Nothing really special, expect power being limited to about 70% or so. Never went beyond that.

Looking at the OBD reading and cluster reading, there's about 2-2.5% discrepancy in SOC between the two (cluster being a lower value). I guess that could be the bottom buffer.

Just to add, I wasn't trying to get to zero! I wanted to go below 10% to allow a balance charge (and also it is cheaper to fill up at home, even though we aren't on cheap overnight at the moment).

I tried to top up an appropriate amount at our holiday cottage to arrive with the right amount.

We got packed up more quickly and earlier than I expected so I got about 10 minutes charge less than I expected, but I suppose that would have only been about 2% extra.

I was at 130 from a while so the car just keep the power.
But if I need more than 40 or 50 (I think), it wasn't possible due to low battery. In the pic, I was at 33%, road totally flat so it helps.

Less than 50%? Is that not a typo for 5%? What use is a car that won't handle motorway speeds as soon as it hits 50% charge?

Mine is still as sharp as usual right down to 5%. I did notice it slightly less nippy than usual on a steep-ish hill at about 12% when the ambient temperature was very cold, but that's all.
