iSmart 2.0 app woes [merged - all discussion in here please]

I’d been without any iSmart functionality for maybe a week and when v.2 arrived it all seemed to kick back in (although I did have to log in and out and clear the cache before it started talking to the car again).

Yeah, not sure why dark skin has been removed - I preferred it ? I couldn't find charging management at first. Will have to see how I get on with it over time, but if the app is more reliable, I'll be happy enough (sick of wanting to warm the car or defrost the windscreen on a cold morning and not being able to).

So far, I've had to login again (login token expired, came up) but I'm wondering if that's a way of dealing with the former unreliability, albeit a bit of an irritation, I mean, other apps don't constantly log you out after each use. No problem logging in again, though. It did, however, default back to metric rather than imperial. Surely it's not too much to ask that preferences aren't reset every time we have to login in again?

I've managed to make it work for (android) by long pressing on the new app (once downloaded) and pressing 'app Info'. It then gave me an option to 'download it' (even though it already had).
This then fixed the problem for me...

Mine went metric despite settings saying it was imperial. Restarting the app fixed that.

After downloading new version of iSmart (2.01) all I get is a blank black screen. (Have used previous version for over a year without problems (well just usual problems we all know about ??).
Has anyone else had similar problems with 2.01?

I uninstalled the app then reinstalled it, and it worked after that.

Just downloaded it.. Android version. Yes no dark mode, but I assume that can be included soon. Had to change metric to imperial but everything else seems to be fine. I set up biometrics which was new. So can login with fingerprint.

This morning I opened up the Ismart app to check my state of charge to find a update as taken place over the last 24 hrs had to restart the app from the App Store log on all done but app does not work anymore 2 MG cars now have the same problem ISmart not working at all

Same problem. When the app logs out it defaults to kms. Why should it not remember your preferences. come on MG don't issue a half finished app.

Hi DenisP, Thanks for the suggestions, I re-downloaded from GooglePlay and my version is now 2.0.1 and working correctly

Thank you too, didn't expect an update so soon. Wouldn't have seen it if you hadn't mentioned it.

2.0.1 installed now,

I'm genuinely impressed, bug fix version increment in 12 hours. Thought it would take weeks for them to pay attention and turn around something, nice.

Was ver 2.0.0 this morning, by the afternoon there was a bug fix version 2.0.1, so make sure you check for latest ver regularly, I'd say there might end up being a few more, delighted to see quick bug fixes going out. Gives hope. ???

This might be helpful to some but I’m afraid didn’t work on my MG5 and app still says it a Marvel R but try your own car.

So according to Burl in this video you need to delete the old MG Ismart app first before you install the new one.

Done everything that as been suggested across both threads but nothing as worked on my MG4 or MG5 and my car is now called a Marvel R is anyone else the same please ? never had a problem with the old version

Mine is now called Marvel R too once logged in. But no connection to car, it just times out.

I hope there’s a fix soon.

App is not working with my car after updating this morning. I hope there is a fix coming. I have tried deleting and installing the new app.

I have the new app, it didn't load and crashed, restart your phone and it began working. Flaky as ever, and how do you change the charge level (currently at Long-trip mode and wanted to change to 80%), unable to change this setting, any ideas???
