My 20 month old car won't open on both left and right sides when I press the door handle but opens when I press the key fob.Any easy solutions rather than taking it into the dealer.
Try spraying around the button with WD40 PTFE spray and see if that helps at all. Maybe water has somehow got to the contacts and is creating enough corrosion resistance to stop a clear pulse getting through to the sensor that triggers the lock releaseMy 20 month old car won't open on both left and right sides when I press the door handle but opens when I press the key fob.Any easy solutions rather than taking it into the dealer.
Had to have mine replaced under warranty. Took a few weeks to get the new handle in and paint it.My 20 month old car won't open on both left and right sides when I press the door handle but opens when I press the key fob.Any easy solutions rather than taking it into the dealer.
My passenger side door button is unreliable, but only when not at the dealer's.Ironically it's the (rarely used) passenger side door button that doesn't work on mine.![]()
Bit odd both fail same time... not something like a fuse controlling these? My 20 month old car won't open on both left and right sides when I press the door handle but opens when I press the key fob.Any easy solutions rather than taking it into the dealer.
Some possibilities have been mentioned that seem plausible...My 20 month old car won't open on both left and right sides when I press the door handle but opens when I press the key fob.Any easy solutions rather than taking it into the dealer.
Actually yes it seemed to wait ages when I left the car at the park and ride.I've noticed in cold weather (not frozen) my door button sometimes takes a couple of seconds to respond.
