I have just installed an auto-dimming rear view mirror in my S5. I wanted to offer advice and a warning to those accessing the passenger compartment fuse board. I have attached a PDF which are the MG technician instructions for accessing the fuses. It is really easy and just requires a little prying and removal of two screws.
The instructions state that you should first disconnect the 12v battery earth. When I reconnected it, several systems where saying they were unavailable. These were numerous and included stability control, lane assist, hill hold and more. After double checking I had done nothing wrong and doing a factory reset, I decided to go to the MG dealer. During that journey, of around 40 minutes, all the errors cleared themselves. No intervention was required.
It was quite scary for a while and I thought I had damaged something. I hadn't. The system just needs time to pull itself together.
Regards
Peter.
