Presumably taking a service plan out via the MG portal would be a better bet ?
You have to select a dealer when you take it out. However, the plan is paid for in instalments. I don’t know what the deal is if terminated part way through.

I've got 3 quotes which I'll finally be getting to look through in detail tomorrow. 1 x MG portal, as you say local dealer selected, 4 years + 2 MOTs. 1 x Salesman who sold me the car from local dealer, 4 years + 2 MOTs and 1 x local dealers service desk, 3 years + 1 MOT.
That 4th year service is a bitch and increases monthly payments from £10 to £16. Still, worth the extra £6/month if you're likely to keep it that long.
I traded a Kia Soul in against the MG, same dealer. I had a 4 year + MOTs service plan with them and they assured me any unused balance would be refunded if I terminated before completing the term. I'm still waiting having terminated it at the beginning of March but they hinted it would 'take a while' and payment is by cheque ( whatever that is??)

Just finished my 3 year service plan, was paying £7/month which was a ridiculously cheap deal.

Been offered another 3 years @ £25/month
Yr 4: £250, Yr 5 £265, Yr 6 £217 + 3 *MOT

I'm tempted, poss seems a little high, but fixing costs could be beneficial.

Verbally I was assured that unspent costs would be refunded if terminated, but would want to see that in writing.

Grateful for any thoughts/comparisons.,
Tks
Will

Was that RRG? I was paying about that with 3rd service due in a few weeks - when I arranged the service the lady wanted me to sign up to a new plan but then couldn't actually give a price, not got back to me yet, but 25 a month sounds a lot!

It maybe cheaper looking here
That website gives me pretty much the same pricing:

1762943112702.webp

That's less than the cost of AA cover for 3 years, which you get free with the dealer servicing.
I paid £430 for the same deal 2 years ago.
It gets a little more expensive after three years.
SWMBO's MG5 4th service (not including MOT) was £290 but it included transmission (transfer box) oil change. The 5th service and MOT was a similar price and included coolant change (plus another £200 to replace two cracked tyres for the MOT).
I still think it's good value though with the free AA cover.
I'm hoping the MG4 prices will be similar.

The prices quoted online are the reason I didn't bother getting the plan, it was saying the 2nd year service was £217, the dealer charged me £153 with the AA renewal.

I was going to say you had forgot about the management fee that the don't put in the breakdown. I spent ages trying to work out why the total didn't add up to what the total payments were.
