Yes. I still doesn't work as it should. It cannot properly distinguish between dashed and solid line even if the markers are completely new. As a result, it intervenes when it should not.
Also, with the indicator on and going back to the lane after passing a truck, the system still beeps and tries to intervene. Even 6 second after passing it beeps. This issue disappears if I disable the two lka modes that apply steering intervention.
SCO77 for me is nothing else but making the interventions even more modest compared to the changes they introduced in 2024. But the systems makes more errors than before.
Needless to say, I have had it with the car. My lawyer can sort it out now.

Do you mean like where a motorway has a junction / left turn off? I get this issue when there's a solid line on the left when in lane 1 which then changes to a dashed line, the car will try and steer off the motorway. It's a pain in the backside. Also, get quite a lot of the system "giving up" when TKA or ACC is turned on where it just cancels.

The MG4 IMO is not really suited to motorway driving (using the driver aids). Most of my annoyances from the car come from driving lots on motorways (many related to ACC/TKA & HVAC). If i just pootled around town the car would be passable, but for long commutes and lots of motorway driving it's the worst car I've had in a long time.

Never had a problem on highways, done a few 100km out and 100km back trips, car behaves like any other car with the very odd tone from LKA but maybe only 2-3 in 200kms, a very slight sensation on the steering wheel. Very stable, quiet and smooth.

Are your motorways in Cyprus like what I experience in England, very much doubt it! Without trying to sound too condescending I'm doing longer journeys many times per week, not just "a few" like your experience has been based on. Yes, my car could be a lemon, but I doubt it, based on what I've read on many of these forums.

Many of the motorways I drive on have poorly maintained surfaces, butchered widths (by trying to get 4 lanes in), inconsistent line markings, odd patches of different tarmac, potholes, and poor weather to cap it off.

IMO: TJA is like having a nervous learner at the wheel, which likes a fight. It's happy to argue with its brother (lane assist) beeping at it's own steering input, then steer the other direction to what it just decided to steer towards. It's basically the equivalent of a shopping trolley with a wonky wheel.

ACC with Lane Assist Off (and the shortest distance from the car in front) is the only way i have found the system to be tolerable, even then the simple task of speeding up when indicating to move lanes (which almost all cars with ACC manage to achieve) hasn't even been programmed by MG. Instead the car will act dumb for a few seconds when you move over lanes continuing to slow down, or best case staying at the same speed which, certainly infuriates the cars behind if you let it (i don't let it do this, i accelerate manually). All can be going well with ACC then randomly and for no reason, cancelled, no reason displayed, car just says so.

On both of yours I'd say that you need the systems recalibrating
On the original update info it says to carry out after an update
Does mean activating the calibration via a laptop, going for a drive but sticking between 40 to 55 kmph from memory
I've had to do mine when I first started doing updates

Totally agree mate, wife does similar journeys in hers and initially it wasn't fit for purpose, various fights with dealers for updates and still not great. She is so glad it's a company car!

Some members do not like to hear people being critical and always seem to jump to the MGs defence no matter the criticism even going so far as to regularly accuse members of being trolls, not worth bothering about especially as they have no experience of the issues in the UK

Tbh when I got the car lka was dangerous and as some are describing here, constantly tweaking side to side, hard yanks etc
After updates & calibration it's sweat as and how others described it so I can easily believe both

Doesn't affect acc being slow to accelerate after changing lanes though and sometimes slows before passing a lorry in another lane which is annoying

My Trophy will beep (but not try to steer) when going back to a lane after overtaking if I pull in quite soon after the overtake while the blind spot warning is active. If the blind spot warning is not active then I get no beeps.

Initially, I also thought this was the root cause. I ended up disabling everything apart from the lka and acc. It still does it, except for alert mode. So it is a bug in the LKA system.
In fact, mine does steering corrections with the lane markings turning blue on the central display. It is very light, but completely useless and annoying if I go back to the lane a truck length or more in front and at a higher speed.

What I did forget to mention: I cross a number of high bridges on my daily traveling. Wind has serious effects on big cars and truck often tend to move into boundaries of the lane. If I stear away but do not cross the marker yet, the car steers me back. And to often it happens that immediately ACC is turned of. With regen at 3 before you know you lose 10kmh speed. Not nice for the car behind you....

I agree, it always perplexes me why people treat feedback about a car like it's a personal attack, they didn't design or make the cars. All cars have their quirks, good points and bad points. I can certainly see the MG4 doesn't fit my lifestyle as I struggle with these negatives day in day out. I'm really glad mines a lease and even more happy I chose not to buy outright like I had planned to.

I have a friend who has the same car as me and they "love" theirs. As they don't use their car for anything other than light duties they couldn't relate to my feedback and responded with things like "i don't drive on motorway only round town", "I don't leave AC/Heating on, just a blast to get my cold or warm", "i don't really get up much speed to notice x,y", "I don't connect my phone to car" etc.

I do think people who have come from ICE cars previously and only drive shorter distances are likely to be much more impressed than people like me who drive long distance and have had other electric cars.

No. That happened before may 2024. They fixed that. It is just a simple motorway with two lanes per direction and dashed markers between the lanes.

About giving up, I have similar issues with ACC. Check my post above this one.

My car only ever came with the update, so I never got to experience the kamikaze setting.

In my experience TJA and LKA fight with each other and this causes the car to sway from side to side making far too many adjustments "fidgeting" about and sometimes even calling itself out by beeping at you.

This is exactly what happens on mine as well. Fully crossed into the next lane, it still drops speed. Than it slowly wakes up and increases speed. Surprises your fellow driver behind you approaching you who is anticipating at least normal behaviour.

I brought this up at the dealer and he said ACC wasn't made for situation with frequent overtaking...."Just apply more throttle". So much for ACC.

The A in ACC stands for Adaptive. But whatever ACC distance you chose, it only does anything until your cars gets within the critical distance set. On crowded motorways and driving faster than others in the slow lane, setting it to the long distance is a pain. But given the shortest distance set, the adaptive effect does not help if you wish to drop speed when a slow driving pack of cars pops up at a distance. Often, without ACC, when you see the alarm lights pop up in front of you, a lower speed keeps cars rolling. But with ACC it just blasts forward until the car reaches the 'danger zone' and than it hits the brakes. This is why traffic jams easily lengthen. Without reason....

Edit: so I use the toggle to reduce speed if I need to. But this means at least in two frequently occurring situations ACC fails: when overtaking and when aproaching slower cars at a distance (large then the set distance) on the motorway.

This is a small Mediterranean island with limited resources, so no, the roads here aren't like those in the UK, they are much worse. However, there's much, much less traffic and life here is fantastic if you integrate with the locals, which most Brits don't, most I know have been here at least 20 years and still don't speak more than 2 words of Greek and most of the time don't even do that. Most of my friends here are locals and continental Europeans. Anyway, road markings are hit & miss, poor at most times but my LKA has never been an issue at all.

Apart from the delayed response of ACC as discussed above (roughly 2-3 seconds), a similar delay happens with LKA. The car needs about 3 seconds before it actually decides whether or not it senses different lane markers. Particularly when the car does not recognize any of the markers, the previously seen markers keep the system 'active' (green). Then it shuts off (white). But after two to three seconds in a next section of the road where markers are again recognized, it turns green again. That delayed response is always about 3 seconds.
Could both delays indicate a lack of compute power?

I’ve stopped using TJA, it’s like driving in a heavy crosswind. It’s rare for me to end up in a stop and go traffic jam, but even if I do I can easily turn TJA back on by holding down the button with the little steering wheel symbol.

Highway setup for me is ACC with regen on Adaptive, no TJA. I leave lane assist on because it is pretty tame 99% of the time. I set the distance to middle or long but that’s more to stop any rocks and such from road trains hitting my car.
