Yes I'm sure. Rearwiper, OPD are MY23.
A real MY24 would have audible noise when driving too fast, during programmed App Climate use the LEDs stay off and the Infotainment will start with SWI132 & 133.. at least in EU or UK.
And in addition the MY24 was never sold/imported in 2024, at least here in Germany. They started in the beginning of 2025.

Thanks for the explanation and clearing that up. I can mention to him that the FICM will need updating. Either R63 SWI68 1300 or R67 SWI68 1300 when it become available.

I assure you that more updating is needed under the hood when Infotainment is R40.. the car has more Software parts than what you see (Infotainment) and will not be updated over OTA anytime soon. Problem is you need to have the dealer to get the car updated (SIPS) and he will only do it if you have issues for free.. so maybe your friend has issues with HVAC.. Bluetooth issues, charging Issues..
And LKA does have an update which is called SC077.. this will affect steering, Radar and Front Camera. Could improve Speed sign recognition..

I think it's safe to say this generation of MG 4 will not see OTA updates

Unfortunately, dealers don't do it for free around here. Though, updating the vehicle won't be a problem either. I can lend him the VDI and laptop to preform the SIPS updates.

SC077 requires the dealer to keep the car for 4hrs, so in my case they (MG Cheshire Oaks) were quite happy to run other software updates like installing r67 while it was there.

As was mine, but when booking in I was told that it could be up to 4 hours.
They say that in case it goes wrong and they have to start the update over again.

What else do you expect? For the Controller inside of the car you need to have Sips and the OBD Interface.. the rest of the car, except TBOX is updated via Sips..
Usb Update is only used for Infotainment & TBox

Ok understood. Version 23 was already provided, link should be somewhere, maybe in the Other SW thread where SIPS is described. But for TBOX a counterpart in SIPS is available, which I assume should be installed as well.

Selling the app for a fee is not the right option.İf it is being sold for a fee,the likehood that it's a scam is very high.The manufacturer mg does not put it up for sale for a fee.In any case, the version have been offered as open source from the moment the vehicle left production up to the present.
