MG4 Spotted! : Was it you?

Best-looking country in the world.

You're delusional about the roads, mind you.
clearly you've never been to Austria, stunning, on another level compared to Scotland and it gets very warm summers and proper snowy winters in the Alps with hundreds of ski areas.

Try some of the Norfolk roads, it's like being on a wooden roller coaster with square wheels.

Got to admit Austria is my go to holiday of choice summer or winter, lost count of the number of times visited over the past 30 years (1972 was my first ski trip, 1976 first summer).

Stunning in summer, go see the lakes in the Salzkammergut region (Attersee, Wolfgangsee, Mondsee), several lakes up to 12-15km in size, no power boats allowed, no jet skis, only sailing and electric boats allowed apart from the few official water ski boats and tour boats. If only the lake district in the UK had the same regulations but people have their 'rights' in the UK lol. Anyway, the water in the Austrian lakes is crystal clear, zero pollution and very carefully monitored, great for swimming. After that take a nice moutain pass to get to south Austria, Carinthia. The Woerthesee (swam there, 27C in the summer!), Faakesee Millstaettersee, Ossiaachersee, stunning area and then from there of course just 30 mins to the Italian border........

We were on the Isle of Man a couple of weeks ago, the roads are like billiard tables :-) We had great weather the first two days, so I decided to tool along the Mountain Road, where the TT is run. There are mile-long straights, with gentle curves leading downhill on another mile-long stretch, fantastic! And down came the fog  couldn't see 20 yards ahead! Oh well, still a pleasant drive.

Just saw one Camden MG4...

When I moved to Milton Keynes 20 years ago, it was like driving on glass. I'd never seen such smooth roads. Since then, they've deteriorated to an astonishing extent. They're now a patchwork of potholes, cracks and extraordinarily poor repairs. The council carries out repairs regularly but they don't last, all they usually do is fill holes with material that tears up again in months. On the rare occasion they actually resurface a bit of road, someone usually comes and digs it up again a week later.

I saw two MG4s today but they're getting so common I forget which colours and exactly where. (I did cover 150 miles dotting around central Scotland today, so could have been anywhere.)

I would have said the Hardknott pass is the worst road I ever saw, but then I remember the unclassified single track road through Glenholm (a dead-end glen) in the early spring of 2015 when I was doing election leafleting in Prospero, after a bad winter and before the council had got on to it. You could have lost a house in some of these potholes. (I still didn't get a puncture though, so the Hardknott pass is winning on that score.)

Saw 3 MG4's on my way South yesterday. An Holborn Blue SE? going North on the A9 near the roundabout at Dunblane, a Camden Grey going North on the M80 and overtook a black Trophy just after Glasgow. Gave her a flash of my hazards. to qualify...that's my hazard lights😄

Waiting to go at a roundabout last week, at the front. I could see another Orange MG4, coming up at the side, so put my window down just in case. He pulled up at the side of me. I looked over and he nodded, so put my thumb up. Thought that was good. Although I'd never wave first. Not coz I'm a miserable git, coz I ain't. Just feel a bit daft, if they don't wave back. 🙂👍

OK, which of you was parked outside the church this morning.

I suspect in the tearoom rather than the church, mind you.

Whoever it was needs to get that nasty bird poo washed off their front wing as soon as they get home. 🤪
Yeah, nasty stuff that. We have a lot of vengeful pigeons in the area. I'm sure they drink hydrochloric acid. I carry a quick detailer spray and a couple of microfibre cloths in the car, just in case of a bombing run by the aforementioned pests...

I was just thinking that. I also just noticed the numberplate is from Central Garage, Galashiels, where I intend to transfer my business as soon as I can get free from the coils of Macklin's.

Actually, just chatting outside the church, one guy asked me if I was away a lot, because he doesn't see my car in my drive most times he cycles past. I pointed out that not only is Caliban's nosebag inside the garage, my driveway is directly on a starling flight-path.

On a nice run today to Seaford, east Sussex saw a nice white MG4. I waved but nothing back. I also saw a twin to my car when we arrived, nice orange 22 trophy that doesn't actually look like it's ever been washed. More grey than orange tbh.

Went to the Best Of British event at Brooklands Museum today. I'd just parked up and was joined by a fellow MG4, a Volcano Orange Trophy.
It didn't end there, on a trip out in a vintage bus around Weybridge in the Heights Business park was a Grey. When we left I noticed there was a Red still parked up in Brooklands car park. Another Grey was spotted on the way back on the M25, and lastly but also my first, a Red Cyberster on the M25 in the slow moving traffic near the M4 junction.

I drove from home to Perth, then Pitlochry, on Sunday. Passed a grey MG4 just where the M9 and the M90 diverge, then passed either another one or the same one again some way up the M9. Saw a red one closer to Perth also.

Then, as I was driving out of Perth aerodrome, a clone of Caliban passed me going the other way. My excited wave was returned. Finally, in the car park at Pitlochry there was a white MG4 charging, then when I returned to my car a different white MG4 with the Swarco decals was parked in front of a charger which had its innards on the ground.
