MG4 Undertray dip/bulge

Mine doesn’t look like that, neither before nor after the bracket. So perhaps there has been a redesign? It appears to flare over a bolt, so maybe it’s not so much an air scoop, but what do I know really..

Thanks for the photo though, that is interesting

Someone posted an identical photo ages ago and we all thought it was a redesigned tray, but nothing came of it. I didn't realise it was the front, not the back!

So after reading this on here I had a look at my 2023 MG4 and noticed that indeed yes, it had the undertray bulge and gap... car is in for service today so mentioned it this morning, and the guy said immediately that yes that there had been a note come in to them in a last couple of weeks about this issue. They've just called to say they had a look and confirmed that there is a fix, and they'll order parts under warranty for it, and we can book it back in once they arrive.

Mine has a very slight bulge, looks like a very small dip in the centre. I expect it to get worse but until it does I can't see MG being interested in it. On the other hand, it's only done 1600 miles, won't be due for a service till the winter. I'll just keep an eye on it.

Just checked mine today...very, very small bulge developing at roughly 3000 miles. Not concerned at the moment but will have to keep an eye on. Like @pjmmk I'm due for a first service in the winter, will decide then what to do, pain the the bahoochie though it may be.

My advice for both of you would be to at least let your dealership know that you have noticed the bulge forming. MG warranties require you to notify as soon as practical when the defect occurs. Don't risk the dealership blowing you off because you left it too late.

I'm getting ready for a fight eventually. I've not had any interaction with my local dealer because it was a lease car, not even sure where it came from...I am half expecting to be brushed off.

Mine was one of the first to be done. See MG4 Undertray dip/bulge

The fix worked, it is done under warranty and nearly 18 months & 25,000 km later I have had no problems.

MG put out a bulletin,AS-TEC-02112023-01. MG are supplying a bar and longer bolts. The bar goes over the plastic tray and clamps down the edge. Pic attached.
