Non-Tesla EV Charging

Good morning from a very wet Harrogate!!
First wet charge!!!
Only one here, so no better time to check up on the forum!!!
Just adding a little more Zing for the return down to Andover.
My kwhr average must have gone up, as I'm currently on 89% with a range of 227 miles.... going to go for around 90%

Total miles home is 240ish, although I'm making a deviation for coffee with an old friend. Should make Banbury readily for a top up charge if it's needed.....

Hey guys I’m on a Tesla charger in Larkhall just now. I’ve had enough power - how do I stop the charge. It started with my phone / card.

If it has a screen then it should have a Stop button on it?

Or swipe your phone/card again? (This is the default procedure).

PS I've checked in the app and I can't select a stall and stop it charging remotely, sorry, as I didn't start the charge from the app.

Can you stop charging from within the Berlingo screen?

Alternatively lower the target charge state in the car to a value less than the current SoC? (If your car can do that ... my MG4 SE SR can't).

... the last resort is pull the emergency cord from inside the boot, only ever needed once, ironically on a tesla supercharger, where it wouldn't start charging / locked up - so couldn't use the app or central screen to stop it.

OK problem solved - I tried to start the car and of course couldn’t because it was plugged in. But trying to open / shut the car seemed to force an action to release the plug. All good now.
I didn’t send the above before I drove off home. When I arrived home I went straight to bed and only saw all your helpful suggestions just now. I think the on/ off on/off routine finally allowed me to escape. Another rtfm session needed proving that you can’t hope to teach some old dogs anything at all.
And if they have changed from Chinese to French fancies the poor creatures become terribly confused 😵‍💫 😂😂
Many thanks everyone.

With all chargers and cars if you lock and unlock the doors 3 or 4 times in quick succession you will release the charger.
This didn't work on an MFG charger I was at when the screen was blank. Tried it loads of times to no avail.

Luckily for me, a school boy error of wearing polarising sun glasses whilst trying to look at the screen was the culprit, took the glasses off and as if like magic the screen appeared in all it's sun drenched glory with a nice small red onscreen button to press.

Surprised to hear that. I used to deliver EV's (Ford,VAG) 3 or 4 years ago using all the Apps and that got me out of metaphorical scrapes many a time. If you managed to contact most of the suppliers that trick saved them having to do anything their end :) . It was having gone through the steep learning curve that an EV made sense for myself.

Interestingly i oil not nothing on the Tesla unit that mentioned switching off. All it had was a tiny screen for the tap and pay which I did with my phone and subsequently again with the phone in an attempt to end the charge.
I’ll go back that way for a return fight another day. I’ve used the Fort William Tesla unit’s multiple times with the MG5 and the Berlingo without any problems. It always connected and disconnected with the Tesla app but in Larkhall last night the app wasn’t playing the game at all ?? It just didn’t appear to work at all.

What was your mobile reception like there?

I know that the Wenea chargers in Luss are useless as you need to use an app to start and stop a charge .. and there's basically no mobile reception where the chargers are sited 🙄
