I have just received an email from Octopus, asking if I want to sign up to this new tariff.

Octopus Go Fixed. will fix my overnight charging costs to 8.5p, and get a cheaper day rate than you’re currently paying.

No mention of the day rate cost.

There is a £25 exit fee.

Tempted, what can go wrong?

You can find the day rate by clicking on the purple 'Octopus Go Fixed' text near the bottom of the email.
In my area day rate is 1.02p (call it a penny) cheaper but there is a £25 exit fee.
I will not be fixing as my consumption does not warrant the potential exit fee and prices (cap) are anticipated to fall this summer for a while.
