Quite pleased with the above result, however just switching on and firing up the A/C the mileage went do to 285, still not bad really....

I average 3500 miles p.a. mostly short journeys with the occasional longer one ( 50-100 miles). I regularly look at the current journey usage and the accumulated usage. Typically this shows 3.5 - 3.8 miles per KWh for current journey, but accumulated about 4.8 miles per KWh. Dividing the mileage by the battery % used gives 220 - 280 miles total range in summer and around 200 - 220 miles total range in winter. That suggests that the accumulated usage figure of 4.8 is more accurate than the current journey figure.

These figures are similar to my findings overall. since April 1st I have driven about 3000 miles with an average "total range" estimate of 244 miles, which I think is good for a standard range car. . The current accumulated mpkwh is 4.8. I attribute this to the warm weather and relatively few hills locally, together with mainly short journeys at modest speeds. My winter figures are very similar to yours, with the range figure coming in at 220 miles.

It was up to 40C outside, aircon was on 95% of the time. Funnily enough, heating wasn't

Just did 182 miles today in my 5 SR and arrived with 60 miles left in the battery, a figure which had slowly been increasing from an estimated 22 miles remaining at the start.
So a theoretical range of 242 miles when the book says 217. Happy with that.
Travel was via the A140 and Dartford Xing, from North Walsham Norfolk to Horsham, West Sussex on mix of A and B roads, plus a decent amount of motorway. All at Eco mode, KERS3 and Aircon running most of the time.

Update: did the reverse journey today, starting with a fully charged battery (granny charger). Covered 182 miles and arrived with 63 remaining, so a total theoretical range of 245 and very much in line with the outbound run, despite sitting in traffic for a half hour on the approach to the Dartford Tunnel.

ACC at 65, (70 for the last 60 miles) and aircon on all the way. I started at 81% and did a top up enroute and arrived home at 29%. In total used 109%, this calcs to a full range of 222 miles in a LR.
It looks from your figures like the SR has a better range than the LR. although I suspect it is because mine was all motorway.

I think the SR maybe gains a little bit of economy from the weight saving of the smaller battery.

This was certainly inferred in one of the MG4 first impression videos where it was pointed out that the SR version was also quicker over a 0-60 test due to this.

Yeah. I was taking it gently 55-60, with the occasional burst to 70 (ish, coff, coff). Speed is a killer. Go twice as fast, get 4x air resistance. Go figure.

I have just done a comparison between 2 identical trips I have done in the LEAF versus MG5. Similar loads, same route apart from charger locations / diversions.

Trip 1 - Vitoria-Gasteiz to Portugal

2021 - LEAF 40kw mostly driven at 60 mph

4 charges, 397 miles, 108kw, 3.69 miles per kw

2022 - MG5 61kw mostly driven at 70 mph

4 charges, 396 miles, 98kw, 4.04 miles per kw

Trip 2 - Portugal to Santander

2021 - LEAF 40kw mostly driven at 60 mph

6 charges, 415 miles, 120kw, 3.47 miles per kw

2022 - MG5 61kw mostly driven at 75 mph

4 charges, 427 miles, 119kw, 3.60 miles per kw
