Xpower - new car protection for matt green paint

Foam cannon with pressure washer here. Try and be as contactless as possible. Noodle / Chenille wash mitt for a light wash over. Rinse off and dry with a light drag with an MF drying towel or air blower. Don’t let tap water dry on your paint 👍

So for basic cleaning at home will the following do?:

1. Snow foam applied with a wand thingy.
2. Rinse with water using a pressure hose.
3. Remove stubborn local dirt carefully with dirt removal spray and mitten, then rinse with water.
4. Dry with a microfibre cloth if you can be bothered.

When using the pressure washer don't use the thin high pressure nozzle but have the water in a fan and keep it at 45 degrees to the surface otherwise it can damage the paint. There are plenty of YouTube videos.
Also don't wash the car on a hot day or when the surface is hot.

For 3, I would use a bucket of suitable shampoo and a wash mitt (Noodle / Chenille type). Then rinse off again.

For 4. Dry with a light touch with MF Towel for sure . Tap water left to dry on your paint will cause water etching - the last thing you want on matte paint.

Hi both,
what snow form do you recommend for matte paint?

Personally I like Bilt Hamber products and their Autofoam is fine for matte paint. It’s also one of the better ones for removing traffic film and reasonably priced.

“For car enthusiasts who want a snow foam that provides excellent cleaning power and is environmentally friendly, Bilt Hamber Auto Foam is a great option. This snow foam is a pH-neutral, biodegradable formula that is safe for all types of paint, including matte finishes.”

Good advice for cleaning any car really as a maintenance wash.

For more detail I’d suggest the Detailing World forum.
