An all electric version made its debut as EZS at the 2018 Guangzhou Auto Show, featuring a 44.5 kWh battery, and a front positioned motor producing 143 PS (141 hp; 105 kW) or 150 PS (148 hp; 110 kW) and 350 N⋅m (35.7 kg⋅m; 258 lb⋅ft) to the front wheels. It is available in the United Kingdom, parts of Europe, Thailand, China, and India.

It was revealed in Australia in November 2020 as the cheapest electric car in the market of all time. MG Australia predicted a sales target of 3,000 unit for the 2021 model year.

Except for China, the electric SUV is officially named as ZS EV, while the official name in China is EZS.

What exactly is one "cycle" on a battery ?

It must be an age thing but I'm a bit confused as to what exactly a cycle is on a battery. Is it one charge from 0-100% ? Is it each charge from whatever to whatever % ? Is it a collective number of charges that add up to 100% ? For example, if I charge my battery say 20 times from 50-80%, is...

    Getting Range from ODB2 Port

Being somewhat of a techie, I’m excited to try making a little raspberry pi box that will read battery range data out of the car, so that I can do fun things with it (like display it on my phone when I’m away from the vehicle) Does anyone know, or have experience in this area, who can tell me...

Comparison between original and face lift ZS EV

So I've been running an original ZS EV Exclusive for 2 years now and fancy a change. Overall it has been a decent EV so I could be tempted by the face lift LR model. I have read and viewed most of the reviews of the new car but would appreciate some impartial advice from owners who have...

    Observations on 12v Battery SOC

Hi all, I recently fitted my Bluetooth BM2 battery monitor to the ZS EV just to get an idea of what the SOC was over time as I am currently not using the car every day. It had been sitting for a few days when I fitted it and I was surprised it was low at 47%. The car is just over a year old...

    ABRP - Native ODB2 request help :)

Hi All, For those that use ABRP (A Better Route Planner) you may be aware that the app now natively supports polling battery data over ODB2, however the MG ZS isn't added as a supported car at this time (can be done with a clunky workaround with Torque Pro app if I recall) I'm looking for help...

    Is it just me..........

Love the ZS EV, it suits most of my driving way of life......but.. On a recent holiday, we had to take the wifes Merc Series B, as there were no rapid chargers within 15 miles of the holiday cottage. Now I am planning a trip to a bird sanctuary 90 miles away. No rapid chargers within 30 miles...
