    My first long journey

I did my first long journey yesterday mostly on the motorway and dual track. Went from Worcester to Brampton in Cambridgshire. 104 miles each way. Left at 10:30am M5 to M42 then on to M6 to the A14. The journey took me two hours each way. I set the ICC to 60 mph and only twice flicked it up...

First longish trip and rapid charge

We took the car on its first decent run since getting it, up to Winterton-on-sea in Norfolk. It was about 100 miles each way and a mix of dual carriageways and normal roads. I put MG pilot on at 65 mph and was pleased with how it behaved. I decided to do a quick rapid charge on the way back...

Anyone remove the roof bars on the exclusive?

For me the roof bars are unnecessary and (I think) cause extra wind noise / drag at higher speeds. Anyone remove them?

    MG customer service is TERRIBLE!

Hi all I am looking for some help with my issue and how to deal with MG’s terrible customer service. My MG5 suddenly stopped working: the car would start but I couldn’t select Drive/Neutral/Reverse and all the lights are on the gear selector. This is a video of the issue: Here is my MG5...

The scenario: Later this month we are travelling to Southampton area and back from Leeds, a distance each way of approximately 250 miles in a 5LR. Because it's August I expect to have A/C on all the time. Whilst in Southampton I will not be using the car before the return journey. The...

Buying... 1. Decided last week of May to buy MG5 LR, found an ex-demo available from Barnsley 29th May, which they managed to sell twice and so got to pick up a brand new one at ex-demo price on 23rd June (my York MG garage was promising a 4-6 month wait). Extras... 2. MG5 does not come with a...

Intelligent Octopus 6 hours at 7.5p per KW

Hi just noticed that Octopus offer a special 6 hour rate for certain cars and wall chargers, the usual suspects beginning with T etc, but you can add your car and charger to the list as they are “working hard” to add new cars and chargers, so if a lot of us MG owners put in a request then maybe...

    Anyone installed a large 12VDC to 220V AC Inverter in a MG5?

I would like to put a relatively large DC-AC inverter into my MG5 so that I can have 'mains' plugs to run vacuum cleaner etc. when working on my boat, which does not have a 'mains' nearby without many many meters of extension cords. There is plenty of room in the bonnet on the Thai version of...

I have read that I have to carry a spare bulb kit to drive in France. Could someone let me know if a standard spare bulb kit is suitable for the MG5? Many thanks.

    AA Membership

I had my first service in June with Richmond Motors Southampton, and was shown a wallet with an AA card which I would receive when I picked up my car .However they had ran out of cards when I returned to pick up my car. They said a card would be sent in a few days. Yesterday,I enquired about my...

    How did he do that?

I parked my MG5 in Love Lane carpark, Nantwich yesterday and connected to the charger there. The car was charging when I left, and I had of course locked the car. When I returned about 40 minutes later the car had been disconnected and another car was using the same connector that I had used...

My cloak of invincibility seems to have stopped working for no apparent reason, should I do the spanner trick or take it back to the dealer? :)

V2H power supply (vehicle to home)

Hi I notice that the new model has this so you can use it when camping and caravaning to supply power. ( and also for home power cuts if you keep the amperes down to a minimum). Do you think we could retro fit this on the 2021/ 2022 models?? Sounds a great asset. Is it as easy as finding a...
