Diagnostic VDI, VNCI, MDI with MG4

Ciao a tutti,

Grazie in anticipo a chiunque possa darmi qualche consiglio utile.
Google says:
Hi everyone,

I apologize in advance if I'm posting in the wrong place or if this has already been answered, but I can't seem to find anything detailed about this.

I have an MG ZS 15 VTI and wanted to access the engineering menu (I'm also familiar with Android and various developments, but definitely not in the automotive field).

How or with what software can I find this password?
I'm getting this prompt in Chinese after tapping the 4 dots.

This is perhaps the only place I've seen serious discussions about ADB access, etc., but I'm still stuck at the previous step.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can offer any helpful advice.

R67?
I thought the last one is R63
YES, there is a new Version R67 available that is said to fix the Bluetooth issue. But up to now no one got this to share for all here. Some dealers have installed it, mine said it was not available in Germany, which I figured out later seems to be a lie. 😄
For the Standard there is R40 which updates R38 with this fix..

I think R67 is just an intermediate version!

It was the same with R59. Great Britain got R59, the rest of Europe didn't (or only a few).

The timeframe is also comparable to R59...

R59 came out around the beginning of the year, while R63 came around September.

I've finally bit the bullet and ordered one of these VDI3 interfaces. But it comes with no software, so I'm wondering where could I obtain the required software? Or is everything done online (like a Tesla)?

Read through this thread thoroughly. It is all downloaded via MG which eats into your paid for time. Some kind member has archived it so you can get it all ready for when you pay. Links and guides all early on in the first posts.

thank you! i'll sniff thru this thread once i receive the interface.

You can get downloading the software now - it’s rather large. Only other bits I can suggest are have a laptop with a good amount of grunt (the software is oddly bulky), update the firmware on the VCI, have a 12V battery charger on the car and if doing software updates buy a whole day; very long process.

It's all on here on a Google drive link, plus I have it all downloaded. You can download it when you're subscribed for an hour / day as well.

thx for the tips!
i'm assuming software is easy enough to use? don't see any real tuturial how to use it.

I'm really after updating infotainment and HVAC stuff, since the dealer didn't do it, even after repeated requests.

Links are in the 1st post with guides. You’ll need a usb stick and the files off here for the infotainment update (which is part related to the HVAC). It’s not really hard to use BUT it gets itself in a knot failing to update modules so will often take multiple goes/disconnecting battery etc and reprogramming troublesome modules as replacement not just update. FVCM was the problematic one for me. 9 attempts and most of the day to fully update my SE sr.

It was worth it as I definitely saw an improvement in range - it spent hours and hours balancing the battery after.

Interesting! I'm assuming BMS was updated as well to affect the battery?
Luckily i dont have a front camera, so i guess i dont have FVCM module either :D

There was a BMS update and it was one of the smaller updates then again my car was one of the very first in the UK (it has the wrong back windows). Pretty sure you will … that’s what does the lane assist and everything behind the rear view mirror unless you mean it’s been removed.

To my knowledge all MG4s have the FVCM ... it's the bit on the windscreen behind the rear view mirror.

Finally got my diagnostic tool. Tried to activate for 1hr (to test the interface and logins) but unfortunately couldn't log in to the software.

I picked the second option; is this correct one ?
