New MG4 Shipment?

I've seen reports that MG are sitting on all undelivered cars until they fix the oil leak.

That's what they have to do I think. Logistically though, cars arrived on a ship on the 5th and another batch on 22nd, so that's a lot of cars they have now stored away waiting.

But what happened to the Ship that arrived on the 7th only just seen a few people got emails about collection. Its 25th of October and all the dealers who promised end of October early November now do not have a clue.

That's precisely where I'm at. The lack of communication from manufacturer to dealers to customer is very frustrating.

This would appear to be likely. Now they've identified the problem it'll hopefully be fixed quite rapidly. Though that's a lot of cars to work through.

That just says that there's a bulletin coming out (today) - it doesn't say what it will contain though, so we're still currently in the dark as to the impact.

On the Facebook "MG4 UK" group someone had posted.

It seems others have had delivery since though so confused and not consistent.

My dealer told me yesterday that they had just received two MG4s that day (albeit neither was mine). ?‍

Mine was returned back to me last Tuesday after being fixed by refilling. I'm holding off driving until I hear more.

Anyone know when the next shipment of MG4s is due to arrive in the UK every dealer I have asked has given a different answer ?

I’ve just spoken to my dealer to double check my delivery because I couldn’t remember exactly when they said and they confirmed the ship is in uk waters and soon will be unloading. He said we should be looking at delivery in the next 2 weeks.

Mine arrives at the dealers tomorrow all being well, must admit I'm a bit concerned about the possible oil leak.

I hope you’re well, I just wanted to touch base to let you know that we are still waiting for the 2nd batch MG4s to land in the UK.

I will update you again in a couple of weeks.


Strange how some dealers are giving dates whilst some do not know, I think I am happier with them saying not sure instead of giving a date, then keep changing it.

I am waiting for my Orange Trophy.

I ordered an MG4 SE LR in grey today. I was told to expect 16 to 32 weeks, which at least felt honest, “but it might be sooner”. Hoping the dealer was lowering expectations and that it might be December/January.

Me too - I'm waiting for my Orange Trophy too, they said sometime in November - ordered end of Sep. They have never given me a date. I don't think any of the dealers know until the cars are processed through on a pre PDI check at Bristol. A dealer told me it takes about a month to process them out of the port from when they first land.

I must be honest I didn’t get it from my local dealer because I was quoted dec/jan so I emailed or rang 34 dealership’s before I managed to get a grey one for this month.. they also have 3 orange available
