A couple of times our newly acquired MG4 long range has decided not to let us engage D and move off. Each time it was resolved only by a random mix of opening the door, getting out, shuffling on the driving seat etc. Don't know which bit actually did the trick.

Hi John
When you unlock,
Get in.
Don't put your foot on the brake.
Don't touch anything until your screen has gone through its start up routine.
Then foot on the brake and only twist the drive knob when the car says its ready.
See how you get on.

JohnT, you can power down the car from the info screen, if that has displayed, to save you getting out of the car. Then press the brake to power up and put the car in the ready mode. Make sure you are pressing the brake hard enough when you select drive.
