Tesla Supercharger Issue MG5 LR

Does anyone know of any MG dealers in Central Scotland or the North of England that do the Tesla Super Charger update for a pre-facelift MG5 Long Range? I phoned Central Garage in Galashiels, but the guy on the phone was clueless, took my number and after about 10 days, he still hasn't called me back. I normally use Cleeveley to service my MG5, but they said that they couldn't do the upgrade and that it had to be done at an MG dealer. I'm not desperate, as I charge at home and seldom use public chargers. It would just be nice to be able to use Tesla Super Chargers, if I am out and about.
Frasers of Falkirk did mine eventually for free along with my third service and MOT. I bought both my ZS ev and my long range pfl 5 from them. Very good.

You're being much more "polite" about this than I would be!

If you've paid them to do a specific job for you and it's either not been done or it's not "worked" you should be demanding either that they redo it, properly this time, or give you a full refund.
Further debacle with the dealer today.

I finally received a call back. Their service manager has apparently been in touch with MG who confirmed only the MG4 supports the Tesla Superchargers and no update is available for the 5.

Clearly that's incorrect.

And, what update they applied when they charged me £40 is anyone's guess. Arguing the case didn't get me anywhere so there no chance of getting the update done here.

In addition, they haven't updated the software on the infotainment system with the 2nd year service as I'm still on the version that came with the car.

Budgen Telford is a dealer to avoid if you need the update in the West Midlands area! Brindley Wolverhampton knew fully about the update but the cost of the service was £140 MORE in addition to the update cost. Around my area, there isn't a great service network.

I was thinking about an S5 once this car's finance was up, but I think I'll be looking at an Omoda E5 instead as I can't get the support required within a reasonable distance from me.

The lack of, or how difficult dealers and MG make support is the reason that owners will switch brands away from MG. Combining poor dealer knowledge with MG's customer service model can make for a harrowing experience. Unfortunately. Personally my local dealer was excellent but if they ever had to contact MG it turned into a drama.
Imagine if the customer service was as good as the vehicles generally are.

Persistence paid off for the refund of the £40 paid. They've agreed to refund me.

I asked what update they'd applied. They said the correct Tesla update was applied but it doesn't work yet. I have no idea what that means.

Since the infotainment software wasn't updated, I can only assume that no updates were done to turn car at all.

Regardless, money back and no Tesla compatibility. I'll leave it that way going forwards as it isn't worth the hassle.
