Quick trip to Sidmouth area in my MG4

Just had a weekend break to a B&B near Sidmouth to watch our granddaughter competing in some equestrian events at Bicton. Charged up to 100% at home (Isle of Wight) before I left on Friay and put a bit (17%) in at the Wenea charger in Sidmouth. Returned home Monday with 100 miles left on the...

MG4 long range won't charge automatically on plug in?

Hi there, When I plug my charger into my mg it lights up for a few seconds as though it is being charged then goes back to blue and stops. I have to instruct the car to start charging from the app? Why has it started doing this as I used to plug in and it started automatically? I've...

power meter not 0 at rest

somewhere recently there was a discussion about the power meter still reading a small positive number once stopped. The worry was that the battery was still discharging. Well I had the opposite experience today. Using OPD I cruised to a stop at traffic lights and the power meter was still...

    MG4 Parking at Airport

So my wife and I have a trip planned for next month, flying from Manchester Airport, and we are planning on driving to the airport which is ~130 miles away. I recently picked up my SE LR, which is my first EV, and so I'm not that concerned about range - though this will be my first really long...

O to 100% or 20 to 80% with LFP battery of the MG4 Standard

There is a general recommendation to always keep the charge of EVs between 20% and 80% (charge always to 80 not 100%). However, I have read somewhere that this does not apply to LFP battery cars such as the MG4 standard that can be charged to 100% REGULARLY and left to discharge to 0% without...

Any tips for parking up for 3 months?

I'd appreciate any advice about leaving my MG4 Trophy 77kWh parked up for 3 months this coming winter (south of England). I note the manual says don't let the charge drop below 50%, but should I expect the car to drain 30+ kWh from the battery when it's parked? Thoughts welcomed, thanks.

    MG4 randomly stops charging

I've had an MG4 SE long range for a few months now (was a dealer demonstrator). Everything has been fine but I'm now getting an issue where the car stops charging randomly on it's own. This happens when I’m charging overnight on a schedule - usually after a couple of hours. But it also happens...

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, mods feel free to delete/merge as necessary. But I've noticed the issue I had with the lights coming on during the day whenever it wasn't brilliant sunshine because the sensor lacked sensitivity has been fixed at the service. The lights come on when...

MG4 Trophy LR MY2022 AC Charging Speed

Hi all, I've had my 2023 MG4 Trophy Long Range since March, and I'm pretty certain it's the MY2022 model - no rear wiper & "pins" in the charging port to support 22kW (11kW limited). I'm experiencing some difficulties with AC charging speeds. I charge once a week at work from ~40% up to 80%...

    20mls/kwh

I hope you are all enjoying the OTA update that unlocks 20mls/kWh mode. It's been very effective today, if you haven't got it yet run down to your dealer and get it installed: Ok, I jest, but did enjoy the 4.6 mile downhill run from Quernmore to Lancaster today. Still working on getting the...

    Can't disable tow mode

I have searched and have not found anybody else mention this. I have a towbar fitted to my MG4 and when I connect my back rack with the 13 pin electrics the car automatically switches to tow mode. That is great, except it disables all drive aids including cruise control, which is madness?? The...

    Home Charging Solutions

Hi all We are expecting our X Power to be delivered on 2nd September. Still need to sort a charger out and wondering what people have gone for on here. I'm thinking untethered as it's a little neater. We will probably only need to charge the car once maybe twice a week if I maintain a heavy...

    Load loss

When I added up all the kwh's from the bills and divided it by the distance driven, I ended up at 17.6 kwh per 100 km's. I'm not 100% what the consumption rate is since it had a reset at the dealer and after 100 hrs, but per 100 it will be close to 16 per 100. Which makes for a 10% load loss...

    Noticed something today... Bluetooth

Today, I was sitting at a farm with my grandson waiting for my wife to appear. I decided to play some of my grandson's favourite YouTube videos on my phone but I got no audio from my phone, that's when I realised that the phone was connected to the car audio system still. So I decided to power...
