So, if you followed this thread, you will have read that I was a bit reluctant to use Autoglym Aquawax, despite reading on their own website that it was fine for Matte Paint.
Well, I bit the bullet today and covered the whole car in it.
Paint, glass, trim, wheels, all of it.
Really pleased with the result.
A breeze to apply, and easy to remove.
First wash since the last time I posted!
So my routine now, if your interested.....
1, Very thorough jet wash.
2, Snow foam.
3, Cup of T.
4, Thorough rinse off, using jet wash.
5, Two caps of Turtlewax in a 10 litre bucket. (preferably with a grit guard)
6, Wash, using mitt of your choice.
(I use a separate mitt for wheels and bottom edges of car all round, and I do them last)
7, Jet wash off.
No here's the beauty of Aquawax....
With the car still wet, go around the whole car with Aquawax.
Have at least two microfibre cloths ready.
Use the first one to rub in the Aquawax.
As it soaks up the water, just wring it out.
Do this with the whole car.
As long as you keep wringing out the cloth, the car starts to dry.
Then go around again with a new, dry microfibre cloth.
It may look like it's smearing, but it drys beautifully.
Stand back and admire.
Really impressed with the product and It saved me a good chunk of time as well.
Update, 2600 miles in.
Still no marks, chips or scratches anywhere.
I had to spend 10 minutes removing lots of tar spots. (I did this after washing, but before final rinse)
Halfords Bug and Tar remover made light work of them.
I can't recommend Aquawax enough.
Just the fact that you can spray it on all the surfaces means you save lots of time.
Not faffing about with, something for the paint, something else for the glass, something else for the trim etc etc etc.
