Diagnostic VDI, VNCI, MDI with MG4

Did the MG5 today. Took an age and thought I'd bricked it when the TC update wouldn't go through, with the consequences of locking vehicle out of ready mode - eventually worked after maybe eight attempts or so. Funnily though, the FVCM sailed through (albeit was still a little over an hour to install).

Also, FICM updated successfully to R17 (that I found amongst @haloweenhamster's files - thank you) but still looking for a TBOX update if anyone can shed some light on a copy?

[For info, ended up buying a further hour (which is actually two) after the day pass from yesterday had expired and then just stayed logged-in, so managed to extend the session to circa 7 hours ]

Can't speak for all of the 5 models but the Trophy LR is SWI83-29867-1300R** Seems most of the corresponding FL ones have been sold with original R12 software, with dealers refusing to do updates. R15 and then R17 were released either end of 2023ish but don't believe many people have these installed.
Btw, MG uses model code EP22 SW EV for Mk1's and tags MCE on the end for the FL version.

Have a 4 and a 5 and the prior discussion was centred around subscription of/using SIPS, so kind of applies still, with a little artistic license thrown in

TBOX & CTBOX added but if it's like the MG4 you have to rename the files to something.zip and put them in a folder with the correct name which at the moment I couldn't tell you what it should be

Hey guys. I have an MG4 which was crashed and the front radar was replaced with the used one (from another car). Now the radar doesnt work.
I have VNCI VDI3, and am planning to try the VDS (and SIPS?) to check for errors.
Is it possible to reprogram the used radar to match the VIN of the new car?
Will I have access to SIPS when I buy 24hr rmi?

Yes I reckon ya should be able to program it as long as it's detected. I would buy 24h as it will take ya a while to sort and for me at least knowing I only had 1 hour counting down would stress me out.

Program it as a replacement then run the calibration which requires going for a drive between 40-60km/h

I have vnci installed and updated adapter firmware. Do i pay for a day first and then download? And can i program radar as replacement with VDS or SIPS?

Very first post of this thread and click on the links for explanation. Haleowenhamster really did a stellar job of explaining the whole thing, even provided all the software to download before paying as not to eat into your paid for time.

Pay as per the instructions then SIPS is where you should find what you are looking for. SIPS is programming, VDS is diagnostics.

I have paid for 24hours and am unlucky with the error "This User Has Logged In On Another Computer".
It been 5 hours and still doesnt work, no respond from techsupport.
Tried 4 different computers (even WIn7 VM), on 3 different networks.
Looks like its up to SAIC/MG, not the computer / internet access....

Hi,

I wanted to check for updates again on Friday,
especially because of SC77...

So I booked an hour for €7, but I couldn't log in, I kept getting the "famous" error message that a user was already logged in:



So I waited half an hour but then immediately got the same error message again.
Could it be that the SIPS servers were down or will the 30 minute countdown restart if I try to log in again after 29 minutes? The last time I tried, 5 minutes before the time was up, I got an error message that no communication with the server was possible:

Stating the obvious, but... assume that you are are using the SNW specific account details provided by RMI and that you've tried removing all cookies and/or using a different browser?

Its one of those 9000SS**** accounts. With the wrong account it says the username/pass dont match.
There are no cookies in sips/vds3 software.

Tech support resolved the "user logged in problem" and extended period.
But its not possible to reprogram or replace the unit (FDR) with wrong VIN,
the box with functions is empty when you select such ECU.

Yeah reprogrammed and now the car drives again - just need to sort out the new front camera and front radar. Camera doesn’t want to be calibrated and radar is showing up as ‘VIN doesn’t match’ so going to save that fun for this weekend

what did you do with the radar showing up as ‘VIN doesn’t match’?

Please could I just confirm -
Does the LOU report show the present module firmware status for a particular VIN and highlight whether updates are available?
Has anyone tried asking their dealer for this information and a copy of the programming history for their car? All I've ever received are verbal reports and - as they're invariably from a Service receptionist - they lack detail (and accuracy). Even the hard copy 'Service Reports' leave a lot to be desired, often apparently not being specific to an EV.
