Then the discussion that SAIC Moto was moving the dealers to a new portal was true in the end. The leaks about the changes for the RMI must be true as well.

Now will they merge the RMI to same portal or remodel old one? Either way, they are going to make it stricter to update the modules of the vehicle.

Let's hope that we still have the possibility to do the updates.. at least I would try to change the FICM MCU.. think that's all an the rest seems to be working as expected now..

I put a question out a few months back about a second hand radar.
1. Has anyone bought a second hand radar and not had a problem with vin lock?

2. Anyone know whether it is possible to clear the VIN lock and reprogram it??

Called main dealer and they basically spat in my face and told me to buy it for an unholy price direct from them! Still don’t fancy it

I can confirm that the version from the drive still works and I managed to update the missing MCU update for the FICM and my MY23 LUX is now up to date..
We'll see if any other improvement will released in the future..

I tried a used part (not a radar though) and it came up vin mismatch and it wouldn't program, configure or update

Maybe this is really something like Car VIN (Component)Lock.. so that only new parts can be programmed. But I would guess there are still possibilities in wiping the previous VIN, but not with SIPS.. Makes sense for IPK.. but not for other modules..

You need to install vds

Does it have options in SIPS like program, configure, replacement?

No it's the only one without an option to program, configure it replace

Just started looking at how to virginise modules but it'll involve dismantling the module, also it's likely different modules store the data differently so I'd need scrap modules to investigate

I left electronics & programming about 20 years ago so reminding myself how to do things at the moment

Wow sounds a bit of a headache and miles beyond what I am capable of.
I bought a MG5 with a problem that it won't charge from a granny charger, only a 7kW charger. But I need to be able to use a granny as well. Found the CCU saying it not correct so hoping that's the issue.

Am I able to buy some of your time?
My 2023 mg zs won't select drive or reverse now, the traction module is showing it firmware at 000000000 and when I try to update it sometimes it'll stop at 38% sometimes 47% sometimes even 99% but it just keeps failing.

Unfortunately some do fail and when they do you have to retry as a replacement
Some updates can take 5 or 6 attempts
On the mg4 the front camera seems most prone
All I can advise is to try again, make sure 12v battery charger is on, if you have Vnci you can try it on WiFi
On my laptop when it's on charge there's interference on the USB so WiFi is actually more stable

Yes it finally took, 2 1/2 hours just hitting retry and it took and working again.

Now just to sort the radar out and then figure out on my mg5 why it won't charge with a granny charger
