Diagnostic VDI, VNCI, MDI with MG4

Does anyone know how long the old SIPS will continue to function? MG has switched to a new system where you are given a code that you must send to MG and then receive an authorisation code in return. Only then can you update.
i have noticed that too. but how do do you get the code to send to mg, i have not found any instructions on that? or is it not possible at all?

@Mystralfire Please have a look at this thread and the other one about software updates. There is a PDF file that describes the process to get the code. I didn't download that file because it was not necessary for SIPS version from November 2024. In my understanding that way is only possible if you're a MG car dealer. But if I'm wrong please don't hesitate to correct me.

Edit: I think halloweenhamster posted that information sheet.

Updating my control modules went smoothly today. After my mechanic assured me during the second inspection in December that the MG was now up to date, I updated six control modules with SIPS today.

I started with BMS and without a 12V charger. After just 10 minutes, the voltage had already dropped to 11.6V. Therefore, I decided to use the charger after completing the BMS update.

Many thanks for the post @haloweenhamster and the helpful comments on it. I have written a German guide here: [HOW-TO] MG4 Steuermodule mit SIPS und VNCI VDI3 updaten - MG4 Electric Forum

Not really. I'm glad that R67 fixed the BT issues
So you still have this problem after the initial start (after another refresh it will update)?
