Lane Keep Assist love.....

Ashley Neal (driving instructor, and also someone who trains other driving instructors) agrees with you. :)

Another video about signalling:

I agree with a lot of what you say (for what it's worth, like you, I care not what others think of me). I am surprised by your lack of control of your vehicle. Just stop waving your arms all over the place, stay in full control at all times. I have done a lot of 'assessments' over many years where I am required, whilst driving at speed, to narrate the full journey from start to finish, and this journey may be over several counties where I have not been before. Had I have taken my hands off the wheel for anything other that gear change, hand brake etc., it would have been an instant fail. You are absolutely correct in that at least 80% do not have the required level of attention to conditions, surroundings and what is actually happening within their sphere of influence. In my personal opinion, every driver, motorcyclist, cyclist, especially 'professional' drivers should have to be assessed every three years for mental capacity, driver awareness, eyesight and driving standards. People must realise that driving is a privilege, not a right. As a specialist, I had to qualify every year.

Are you talking to me, or commenting on what Ashley was saying and doing? If the latter then the comment was probably better served being posted on his video; if the former then I've no idea what you're talking about as I've never said or done anything related to your response. :)

Yep, sorry, the publisher of the video. My bad, I got a bit carried away.

Amen 2 ... I have Android Auto mapped to the left star button (because of the 2 choices this one seemed better) but I don't need it mapped as there's a big tile to press on the Info display. So I would quite happily remap that button to turn on/off LKA.

OR ... add it as a button to the swipe down menu on the Info display - quick and easy to access rather than going through multiple menus.

Yep - I'd be happy with it on the swipe down menu.

Have you ever driven with LKA on and the car suddenly veers into a bus lane? Or the LKA keeps turning on and off because the markings on the road are bad?
Mine randomly steers quite violently when I'm not even close to the line. I can turn it off but it turns itself back on again after a little while.

Unless you get out of the car and then back in again, it should not turn itself back on. How long does this take to happen, usually? Any patter to it?

There's no pattern that I've found so far, although it seems to do it within about 30mins. Today it turned back on after 5mins of driving. As for the violent steering wheel pull, that's completely random. I've seen on another thread on this forum that lowering the sensitivity can help so I'll try that next time I'm out and see what happens.

I think I’d be looking at recall updates and fairly urgently. In the last round of updates, mine has been much more civilised. Still has its moments mind!

Last I checked my sealed, there was no LKA updates. The last was dated back to December 2022 when I bought my car, and R46 infotainment update didn't make any impact on its behavior.
