FYI - mentioning the AEB tech bulletin from March 2024 got me an update to the AEB module and infotainment (assuming they are separate modules). Confirming the infotainment update because I now have the button to turn off ELK when I pull down on the right of the screen (plus also had to re-apply all my defaults, like not turning on the side cameras when turn indicator is on and reducing indicator noise). Assume this also updates the cruise control, but won't be able to test that for a while.

Apparently there have been a few cars going in for their 2 year service with charge lights not working. Mine is back on 10 Nov for a few days with a free loan car to get that finally fixed. As the service manager said, it's going to be an expensive item for MG, so they want to be in control. Need to be persistent with MG service. Understand that it would be a complete pain for country owners.

I have the same space saver from a VW golf and a dry fit only works on the rear of the 77. The Front caliper is way too big for it. Looks like a hunt for a relacement.

It will still work for now, I will just need to add a car stand until
i can replace it.

My car is booked in for software updates on 26th of November after the kerfuffle of it not being done when it went in for its first service.

Over the past year I have had the car suddenly drop out of ACC when cruising at 110 kmh on the Pacific highway 4 or 5 times, and warnings come up that forward collision, AEB, LKA & AEB systems have all failed. After a few minutes the systems all come back on line when I see the displays change from orange to white. I have no idea why this has occurred.

This happened to me again on Saturday, & this time it was just the forward collision symbol that turned orange, then the warning but a short time later they all went and this time never came back.

I got home & shut down & a restart had no effect. I don't lock the car so will try this & leave it for a while. I saw on the Aus MG4 facebook page this had occurred to someone else as well. Any comments on a fix would be welcome. I am not too bothered as it is only a week & a bit till the car goes in for the updates.

Only commenting because my 64 Essence is from Aug 23 and therefore the same batch, originally with the same software (though upgraded now). We have only driven from Sydney to Wollongong and Sydney to Newcastle, but that should include similar roads. My wife only had false AEB at a particular location in Sydney and neither of has seen the symptoms you describe on motorways. Sounds like something specific to your vehicle and perhaps more than software

As I mentioned it has occurred with others as well. I locked the car & left it for a while & also did what another owner did that fixed it for him & that was to drive the car turning the wheel lock to lock & then the same in reverse. No change but as soon as i got out on the road it fixed itself. Of course LKA ELK & possibly fwd collision alert does not activate under 60 km/h. So whether it was locking or turning the wheel I don't know but it is fixed. It is on my list of issues for the software update though.

Just a throwaway suggestion, but is the forward camera / glass clear? Mine has deactivated occasionally usually due to weather causing the vision system to struggle. I'd imagine a well placed bug splat might do similar.
