MG4 Undertray dip/bulge

Not a known issue? 🤦‍♂️It was known more than 3.5 years ago ... I even had it on a checklist of known issues that I gave to my dealer before I'd even bought my car! 🤣
Surprised it's not a characteristic

Obviously trying it on. Hoping he'd go away. Which probably some would. 🙄🤪

To be fair I think they meant not a known issue to them. First they had seen I think. My gut feeling is most people do not look under their car so do not even know if they have a problem.

The only reason I looked was because of this forum. I may have easily gone round not knowing otherwise. So thank you to this thread
:)

The outcome was good as I say they found the bulletin and booked in for the work when the part arrives.

Shame I had to push a little but I find this with all dealers. Based on the outcome of this I will happily be using them for future services. My old dealer stops being MG.

Side note did look at the MGS5 they had some good deals on that but I could not justify spending £10k to switch to it.

The bracket is 11769392 BRACKET-UND DFL which is 23.00+VAT (next day from your local dealer) - you can buy the extra long bolts, but you have to buy a packet of 10 (£25 or so!!) - so just got some from toolstation on the way home - I think you need M6 x 30 (item 83910) - I got stainless ones and were £2.58 for 10 (I already had the penny washers)

It’s tends to become a “known” issue, after they have checked to see if they can get paid for it strangely enough 🤣.
Conducting warranty work never puts money into the till on the same day, unlike paid service work unfortunately.
It can be a long drawn out affair.

I know this is a bit of an old topic, but I took my MG4 Trophy in for its first service yesterday and mentioned the undertray bulge while it was there. Initially they were quite adamant it wasn’t a known issue and said they hadn’t heard of it. They mentioned there was no bulletin and seemed a bit sceptical.

I pushed back slightly and, to be fair to them, they agreed to have the mechanic take a look. By the end of the service they confirmed there was an issue, located the bulletin, and have now ordered the parts to get it fixed at no charge.
Mine was replaced free of charge
