adaptive cruise control
Adaptive cruise control (ACC) is a type of advanced driver-assistance system for road vehicles that automatically adjusts the vehicle speed to maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead. As of 2019, it is also called by 20 unique names that describe that basic functionality. This is also known as Dynamic cruise control.Control is based on sensor information from on-board sensors. Such systems may use a radar, laser sensor or a camera setup allowing the vehicle to brake when it detects the car is approaching another vehicle ahead, then accelerate when traffic allows it to.
ACC technology is regarded as a key component of future generations of intelligent cars. The technology enhances passenger safety and convenience as well as increasing road capacity by maintaining optimal separation between vehicles and reducing driver errors. Vehicles with autonomous cruise control are considered a Level 1 autonomous car, as defined by SAE International. When combined with another driver assist feature such as lane centering, the vehicle is considered a Level 2 autonomous car.
Adaptive cruise control does not provide full autonomy: the system only provides some help to the driver, but does not drive the car by itself.
I recently took delivery of a ZS EV and noticed that the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) was inoperative. No matter what I did I could not get the ACC to engage.
After reading through the owners manual it appears there is a logic connection between the Traction Control System (TCS), the Stability...
Warning: Newb Question!
I did a search on this but failed to find any posts which explain how to resolve this seeming "problem", so my apologies if it is covered elsewhere in the forum. Just point me to the appropriate thread!!!
As received, new, last Friday (March 25th), when trying to...
Checked out the adaptive cruise control today, glad I had my seatbelt on, it worked, maybe not as fast as I would have liked but that might have been in the settings.
Update as of 27 December 2021: if you're having issues with ACC, check how your front number plate is installed; it could be blocking the radar - see post #17 below.

Hi all,
First post from a happy new MG ZS EV owner. I'd love to hear about your experience with adaptive cruise...
Does anyone have a simple step by step guide of how to correctly engage the Adaptive cruise control please.I have tried reading it in the manual and gave me a headache ?
thanks in advance
Is it just me, or is the car way less efficent when using the cruise control or MG Pilot? I seem to be able to drive the car far more efficently "manually". Don't get me wrong, both systems work incredibly well, though it is still a little disconcerting.
