maintenance
The technical meaning of maintenance involves functional checks, servicing, repairing or replacing of necessary devices, equipment, machinery, building infrastructure, and supporting utilities in industrial, business, and residential installations. Over time, this has come to include multiple wordings that describe various cost-effective practices to keep equipment operational; these activities occur either before or after a failure.
There is a thread in the MG4 section, which suggests that 10-100% charging is required every so often - apparently this is mentioned in the MG4 manual.
I can't find anything in the MG5 manual that suggests that this is necessary - only charging to 100% and allowing equalisation to take place...
Well, I’ve been driving my Pre-FL LR MG5 for a month now.
The 3 pin charger is working well and certainly keeps the battery at around 70% easily. I’ve driven nearly 700 miles without an issue. I did get the 70,000 mile service done at a cost of £230.00 which included the replacement of two rear...
I’ve received a quote from my dealer for a service plan for three annual services and the first MOT for the cost of £471.39. What does everybody think, it’s sounds expensive to me because I thought ev sevicng would be cheaper because no oil change, filters etc
Hi guys, I didn't find anything about this in the WIKI so here's my question: what is the service interval for the MG4? Well, once a year or every how many miles? Does the XPower have a different interval? Thank you ;-)
Hey everyone
Saw a vid on YouTube on battery balancing for the MG4 so wondered how important it is.
I've never done it nor was I advised by the dealer to do it (had the car about 4 months from new). Did a search on here but only found info related to the ZS.
So:
Should I do it for my MG4...
Hello everyone,
during the first maintenance a broken (worn out) coupling rod was found on the front right of my MG4 SE LR (German Car just 12.000 km).
Has this happened anywhere else - or is this an isolated case?
Btw - NO guarantee as this is a wearing part, pay first then apply for...
My MG5 is coming up to its second service at just over 20k miles. Just had a quote from Glyn Hopkin for £380. This seems outrageous to me. Anyone had similar experiences?
Has anyone else suffered from warped brake rotors? My car is 2 years old, and has done only 6000 miles but I’m told the rotors are warped and that I need to replace the front disks and brake pads at a cost of nearly £500.
Hi I have noticed that in US servicing is every 24 months, not 12 as here
as a low mileage user , ie c.5k pa why do I need a 12 month interval, other than to keep the warranty valid?
Completed today by AE Wilcox & Son Ltd in Wickwar.
No issues and the bill came to £165 including the optional brake fluid change.
Only took 2 hours so I went on a 5 mile hike across the local countryside while I waited :)
Hi All, to split from other AC not working threads.
Mk 1 January 2020 registered ZS Exclusive
The rheostat for the known HVAC issue was replaced under warranty about two years ago.
Car has been Main dealer serviced as per guidelines, last time January this year.

Noted now with the...
Hi all just a quick one and might of been asked but do you have to get your Aircon re gassed as your would in a petrol or diesel car.
Can't find any info anywhere and help would be appreciated.
Normally have it done at the two year point and it's now two years old .
Someone already seen/own digital or hard copy service/technical/spare parts manuals?
Are there canbus devices available to programm/change params, as I have one for my Smart Roadster?
It helped me several times to evaluate, fix and remove/reset fault codes.
Have some ideas to change the look...
I own a HS PHEV EXECUTIVE and I'm concerned about the timing chain replacement interval, I travel quite a bit and I'm starting to think about these interventions. Any of you have any info, has anyone changed the timing chain kit or water pump before? How will you proceed?
Was this bit of the car designed by the Work Experience boy?
Is MG so confident with its quality that it knows a fuse will never need replacing?
Is it to dissuade DIY retrofitting of accessories eg dash cams so that owners are more likely to go to their dealer? (Unlikely as MG don’t make any...
I have had my pre-facelift MG5 for 12 months now, and the lease company (salary sacrifice through my work, they use Zenith) are arranging for the first service to be performed. Despite me telling them about it they don't seem able to arrange a service with the local MG garage in Aberdeen, so...
