    Brake pads and disc longevity

So the other day went to change the tyres and so while on the jack went to look at the brake pads which I thought by now were nearing their end at 120,000 km. But was surprised they are still only half way and discs are as new with no edge at all. How much were these expected to last? The...

    "please take control of vehicle"

Driving my MG4 Trophy home from Kent, I got the message "please take control of vehicle" in red on display twice. Both times I was driving in cruise control, OPD, lane keep assist disabled, on a dual carriageway when the message flashed up and the car dramatically lost speed as it dropped out of...

    MG4 Charging power 0.0kW

Hi All, I got an MG4 Trophy LR last week. I've had issues with charging it when on a schedule from either the charger or the car. The charger I have is a Project EV Apex charger. If I plug the car into the charger and want it to charge straight away it works absolutely fine. The issue I have is...

Portable charger included with Australian MG4

So, I just finished a 220 km trip in my new MG4 Long Range. I still have enough charge to get home, but decided to trickle charge it back to full over the next day. The car came with an MG branded portable charger that plugs into a standard GPO. When I connected it, to my surprise it charges at...

MG4 Trophy - smashed rear tailgate light strip

Hi, unfortunately we have reversed our MG4 trophy into a tree branch, and it smashed the perspex cover over the rear tailgate lightstrip [anyone know the correct name?]. It's only the plastic part that is damaged. I have spoken to our local MG dealer in Stockport and they think the whole...

[Australia] Looking for some home-charger feedback/opinions

We are in the process of building a new house. My commute will increase to about 110 km a day so I'm assuming I will be charging almost daily, especially if I want to use some excess solar power (I work in education so I'll be home by 4 pm most days). We are looking at 14kWh solar system, which...

    Charging question

Apologies in advance, this a really silly question I know but one I’m confused about. I’m currently making use of a public charger; 22kw. The car next to me is charging at 11.3kw yet mine is only 2.7kw. Why is this please?

MG4 77 kWh Extended Range max charging rate

I have had an MG4 77 kWh for a few weeks now. I am charging it for the first time to go on a long trip. The specifications say the charger should charge at 11 kW, 3-phase. My Evnex X22 (3-phase) charger says the charging rate is 10.4 kW. The car says it is charging at 9.6 kW. I cannot see the...

How to set up cabin preconditioning on MG4 SE SR?

I am new to this. I Have MG4 SE Long Range. Use an Ohme ePod charger. The app allows me to set cabin preconditioning but says Turn on settings in your EV first. As far as I can see the iSmart app has no option to set this. All I see is HVAC ON/OFF in real time rather than as part of a schedule...

    Granny charging

My home electrics are not up to running a wall charger. My useage is mostly local with monthly trips of around 200 round trip and annual around 300 one way, returning within a week. Is charging via three pin plug going to be up to the job with occasional public charging station topups?
