Well Al, it possible I suppose but I think if the car is set to stop charging once it gets to what you have set it for 70-80% or what ever it should stop, but if you only set the Zappi for your cheap period let’s say 4 hours and the car is not at 100% it will not balance
But at the beginning of this thread your question was how to get the car to do a charge and balancing of the battery with the Zappi well I think your sorted with that now.
But then #18 you said you had been setting the car to stop at 80% so that confused matters as the balancing only happens at 100% as I explained.
But again I will remind you its the car that controls the charge not the wall box so yeh if you do as you have done set the a Zappi on Eco++ and then set your boost time to start when your cheap rate starts you should be on to a winner.
With your cheaper rate charging.
And if you have set the car to stop charging 70 or 80% it should stop when it’s there is there a bug I don’t know but remember it won’t balance at less than 100% and also one other thing the time for it to balance can also vary from 30 minutes to a couple of hours so the best way to charge your car is like MUZGB1970 as explain at #7 if you can
The only other thing I will remind you of is you have the Long Range battery and the recommendation for that battery is to try and keep it in the 20-80% state of charge if you can of course and than give it a full charge around once a month or maybe twice that’s one of the reasons that in the cars with the LR battery you have the ability to limit the charge to 80%, the SR car doesn’t have that 80% setting as it’s a different type of battery that can be charge to 100% at anytime but if you need your car full each day well you need it full, so charge it and let the car decide when it needs to balance.
