Diagnostic VDI, VNCI, MDI with MG4

Hmm, OK... IPK took me about 20 to 30 minutes (split into 4 sections!) and a bit of a sweat on my forehead.

It's a shame that the 4 doesn't work via LAN cable yet.

Evening all, I'm new to the forum and have a question regarding making an account for the SIP updates. I've followed the advice on how to make one, but it seem I can't create one.

Is there some sort of vetting process or delay for an account to be created?

Hi, try to follow this instruction:
If you want, we can try doing this registration together in chat. I just tried, and I was able to create another account and immediately received the verification code. Just to verify, can I ask if you followed these steps in this exact order?
  1. Open: https://rmi.mgmotor.eu/
  2. Click Login
  3. Click Register an account
  4. Enter First name, Last name, and Email, but do not enter the phone number yet.
  5. Click "Click to start verification" next to the email field.
  6. Verify your email.
  7. Only after email verification, enter the phone number and the other required information.

P.S. Feel free to reach out to me in chat if you need any help
Remember to register a company account for the sips acces, in the vat number you can type some random numbers they don't care.

After the registration follow this procedure to buy an account.
You need to click "start standardised navigation"

Then click the second option "payment"View attachment 35442
And then you can buy some time for access to documents or for diagnostics.

Hi Geekice,

Thanks for the detailed guide. I have now successfully created a account.

Many thanks.

Evening all,

I have a question regarding VDS software. I've noticed that there is more than one hot-fix. When VDS setup is done, I know I need to run the hot-fix afterwards. Do I just install all the hot-fixs' in a numeric number order or just install one of them, which being the current one ending in (19)?

The other question I have, can you pick day/time when you want to use their service (SIPS/Diagnostic) or you just pay and use it in that said day only? If it's a day basis, can you use their service on a Sunday?

Hot fixes - honestly can’t remember but to be safe I’d pop them all on in order. In truth I barely touched VDS and spent hours in SIPS on the updates.

When you pay they make the username and password available to log into the software from when you purchase. So buy at 9am you get 24hr from then so until 9am next day (some have said there is an additional hour where it works but I never tried). It is automated system so you can use any day.

Hi
Does anyone know if there have been any new module updates in the last month (after the SCO77 update delivery) ?
There is a new BMS software, but when I tried to install it, it gave me an error and didn’t start the update. I tried four times and then gave up, so I was unable to install it.

Thanks for the response. That's good to know, I hope to get some free time over the weekend or following week. I plan to use the VDS to check out an issue with the front camera.

Hi all, trying to check for new Versions with SIPS, I still had IPK to do but getting issues. Using VNCI with last 1008 SW Version. Login is working without issues getting the error that BCM and SDM VIN are unable to read and I do not have a real connection, no update or checking EPUs not possible. Any idea what could cause and prevent this? VDS can connect to Vehicle, a few DTCs where available noting serious but clering these did not change the SIPS connection.
Disconnect 12v did not help.
Here is the screen I was looking at.

Update: switched my notebook and it is working now.. don't know why...
Another Update: All updates (EPS, IMCU) including my missing IPK went through, BMS got stuck and VNCI Disconnected, but was able to redo it without an issue. So 1008 FW improved the long lasting Updates, IPK took 35 minutes, but not sure if the disconnects were related to my old working Notebook.

Not this time.. my 2010 Dell Laptop worked with Win10 like charm, which did not work in the past. The Lenovo ThinkPad (AMD based) with Win11 did not, also a mini PC (AceMagic S1) with Win11 did not work.. so I would say possibly it will be better to go with Win10.
To be honest I cannot determine what is causing this, could be the VNCI adapter.

Hello,
I managed to register myself and pay for the account.
I got a username and password, but SIPS tell me that the username or password are incorrect.
What to do now?
Can someone help me?

The login details are not the same. Check under account details on the webpage for your sips login details. Username is named SNW account something starting with 9000SSNW and there is a password related to this..
