Diagnostic VDI, VNCI, MDI with MG4

The android infotainment is one part of the ficm and the MCU, tbox and VIP must be updated via USB before executing sips updates on these systems.

For the person trying to program a key, it's quite simple via sips though it must be a brand new virgin key PCB and not a used key from eBay or the like.
Hi there. I have just bought the VDI so waiting on this to be delivered. I did buy a second hand key off Ebay, is there anyway to use a second hand key or are they then useless? If I need to buy a virgin key can anyone point me to one please?

I don’t know if it’s possible to program a used key, I programmed and currently use as my main key this one I bought from AliExpress: https://it.aliexpress.com/item/1005005878474153.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.163.21ef3696p78bg3&gatewayAdapt=glo2ita

Thanks for the reply. I will try with the second hand key and if no luck will buy the one you sent the link to. Out of interest did you have to pay for the sips access to program the key or could you do it offline just using the software installed on the computer?

You need to pay for the SIPS subscription, one hour is enough.

If I purchase a 1-hour SIPS subscription, what happens if the time runs out during a module update? Will I face any issues?

Never tried it myself, but I remember someone here said nothing really happens and it just keeps working as long as SIPS stays open. Happened to me once that the account I got was already in use on SIPS, and when I asked support for a refund they told me they had an issue with the auto password change, so the account I got was probably still being used by the previous guy. So yeah, I guess they stay valid for a while even after they expire.

Hi guys, has anyone been able to log in to SIPS? I’ve bought a subscription twice now but still can’t access it. It keeps saying I’m logged into another system, which I’m sure I’m not. It’s been two days and I still haven’t had any luck.

Thanks. I can confirm that something is seriously wrong with MG. I created a brand-new account, and guess what? They gave me the exact same username as before! They just took my money. The system keeps assigning the same username to customers. Be careful, guys.

Lately the account generation has gotten much worse, often it doesn’t even generate a password. Anyway, if you open a dispute on PayPal they refund you without any issues, since SAIC never replies, and if they do, they just tell you to open a PayPal dispute for a refund. Funny thing is, before PayPal used to give SAIC at least a month to respond, but now whenever I open a dispute I get my money back in just a few seconds.

I have found the tech support guy very very good. Slow to respond but very good.

Due to my contact with him I have now managed to get some of the usb updates applied via ficm for facelift zs trophy and facelift 5 trophy, including tbox for both cars.

Happy to share, especially with anyone who wishes to try the tbox update before I do

I was also in contact with a very polite technician, although a bit slow to reply, but when I asked for the USB update files for the MG4 he disappeared and never replied again.

Hi everyone, quick question -
I want to discover the damaged components in the rear-end MG4 that won't start (definitely the CCU is broken, but I don't know what else) - I need some diagnostic tools - I'm wondering if I'm in the right thread - and is this the thread I should read first?

Hi, could someone with VDS installed try logging in with random credentials to see if they get a “network error”? I’m not sure if it’s an issue on my side or if SAIC’s servers are unstable.

Hi
FICM updates via USB.
Do you know where to download the files? I couldn't find them in SIPS.
“Large file...” downloads files with the .51 extension and saves them to /TCE_Available, to which FICM does not respond.

Open the .51 with 7zip / winrar, extract them to a USB stick

After unpacking, I obtained:
  • 11248183_02.sw (date 2021.09.27)
  • AS23PEU_ClientTdbGdb.sw (date 2025.02.28)
I uploaded both to a USB flash drive and nothing happened.

I downloaded three “AS23PEU_ClientTdbGdb.sw” files and chose the most recent one.

Does the flash drive need to be specially prepared? Formatted FAT32.
