Diagnostic VDI, VNCI, MDI with MG4

What actually failed (from your log)

Your sequence is:

  • ✅ Downloading Function File – Succeeded
  • ✅ Reprogramming Download Process File – Succeeded
  • ❌ PPF File Run Failed
  • ❌ Reprogramming Flow Failed
  • ❌ BCM/Reprogramming Function Failed

👉 This means:

Flashing the BCM software/config went fine. The failure is only in the PPF (Post Programming Function) step.

The issue is vehicle state / conditions not satisfied for PPF.

Is this true ?? If yes then what I'm doing wrong.

Make sure your car is not in READY Mode. You can simply open the door to get into the right mode.🙂
So you mean to say " Turn on the Vehicle, keep the door open ". I will try this. Also I keep getting HV Battery shut off notification whenever I try to turn on the car without pressing the brake pedal.

@Bharath2050 What was your voltage at the beginning of your SIPS session?
Its 13.6V and it went down to 12-11.5V so I connected a 13.6V 20A Charger. Now the voltage is stable. Also the overall battery pack voltage is 400V and its 98% charged.

@Bharath2050 Have you done any parts replacements?
I bought a used one. Its a 2022 model with 88% SOH and 140k kms on meter. It had few minor accident history so may be some parts replacement is done by the previous only. I'm not sure about that. That error is becuase of the parts replacement or something ?

Please bear in mind that @Bharath2050 is posting in a thread in the MG4 board, but in fact has a ZS EV. (I know they made that clear when posting, but that was on the previous page and people may forget). :)
Hi, Yes! Its a MG ZS EV. I didn't find any post in ZS EV section discussing VNCI, VDI, firmware flash, upgrade etc.. So I posted here. Please consider this as general software related talk.
I think SIPS and VDS is same for all MG Cars. :)

@Bharath2050 That’s the good thing about SIPS: You can check if there have been any replacements done. SIPS checks all parts if there’s a mismatch of VIN. If that’s the case you have to make a SIPS update via replacement function. But be aware that the owner before you replaced damaged parts correctly.

Thanks. I will check. Also someone posted the same issue before. I'm just checking that. I'm using VNCI VDI3 tool. I think its creating the problem.

@Bharath2050 Then try again. An advice for charging the 12-voltage-battery: Please wait until it reaches 13,5 to 14 Volts before updating via SIPS again.
Hi, It's working now. The problem was with vnci vdi3 tool. It's firmware issue. Now working fine. I connected a 12V charger and started updating. Already updated few modules. Rest will finish by tonight I guess. The only problem is IPK reprogramming taking very long time.

Thank you so much for your support. 🙂👍

Okay. Where can I find it ? Also IPK repgramming stopped and now the IPK is not turning on. What should I do... Its blank. Do I need to do reprogramme again or replacement ?
