Diagnostic VDI, VNCI, MDI with MG4

Hi, I have bought the "VNCI VDI3 Roewe MG Wuling Maxus automotive diagnostic tool" but I'm not able to make it visible for "VCI Manager".
The "VNCI Device manager" a different piece of software, it reads it but it looks like the firmware version is 0.0.0.0 (!?) which is very strange. It should be at least 1.0.0.0 but never 0; am I right? The software version is 1.9. I tried to upgrade it using "VNCI Device manager" but every single time it fails. For this reason now is completely useless.
Any idea why is this? Any of you faced the same issue? (antivirus, firewall, everything disabled). Any advice?

Have you tried to execute it as an admin?

I have managed to fix it. I uninstalled the driver from Devices Manager (right click on start button) under network devices. Unplug and plug again in a different usb port. Windows recognises it and instals a fresh new driver.
Unfortunately I am not able to reprogram the T-box. I have an error message: "the second application is not refreshed to the latest version." Now I am trying to reprogram the other modules. (It is an zs facelift).
P.S. It looks like a 5 amps charger is not enough. 10 amps works well. (230V).

To perform the update, I had connected a 6A charger directly to the 12V battery and set it to continuous output; in this mode, it supplies 13.8V, just like a standard power supply. Despite this, the voltage dropped to 11.6V during the update process.

Hi everyone,
Has anyone tried logging into SIPS lately? I tried on Saturday and Sunday, but I kept getting an error message.
I need to program some new tire pressure sensors, but I couldn't get the login to work. I've already received a refund from PayPal.
Thanks!

Which version of SIPS do you have? The old one doesn’t seem to work anymore. The servers have apparently been updated, so you need a newer version of SIPS. I’ll have to check where I got mine from. And it looks like a verification code is now required as well. You can find that on the Smil website in the ‘Service Now’ section.

It should be here: Microsoft OneDrive

Had the same issue:
Has MG ended support for the older SIPS Version (the one without codes from service now)? Just asking because we are having some cases in the German forum where people can't sign into the older SIPS (multiple cases). We also did a lot of testing to ensure its not a firewall issue or something like that.

Just tried it my end and it's logging in and opening correctly

Wonder if it's an RMI issue as I'm now using a 'friends' login rather than buying one from RMI

At least sips doesn't seem to be the issue

Those that have had issues, have you tried the newer software to see if the same login details fail on the old software but work on the new software?

Ok this makes it odd, found a MG bulletin that says it shouldn't work since 30th Nov 2025:

We have had notification of a change to the SIPS server the UK is connected to. SIPS being used to update and programme all electronic control units on vehicles 2018 and above is an integral part of your workshops processes to repair vehicles, therefore, we urge you to take note of the following information:

SIPS 1.0.2.5 - worked through the Server in Shanghai and from November 30th will no longer function in the UK.

SIPS 1.0.2.7 - and subsequent updates for the UK market will work through a European Server and will be the only version of SIPS which will allow you to continue your day-to-day work.

If you haven’t already installed the latest version, please follow the instructions included in AMS INFO > Software > Diag Tools > “Setup-SIPS-1.0.2.7 014” at your earliest convenience.

The latest version of SIPS features ‘non-force reprogramming’, which allows for software updates to be completed only when deemed necessary by the manufacturer. This will require a verification code from SSNW and the reason for the update to be applied. This is for the manufacturer to understand why this update was required.

Reprogramming will only be necessary in circumstances which involve: Vehicle malfunctions or Customer complaints.

Opposingly, the “force reprogramming” is the traditionally used Red Cross (X) in older version of SIPS. This is where the software in the vehicle doesn’t match the software on the server and reprogramming can continue as normal if required by one of the above bullet points.

SIPS has also introduced new statuses along the usual ‘Green tick’ and ‘Red Cross’, these consist of:

· A Grey Asterisk (*): ‘Non-Force Reprogramming’ - The ‘Vehicle ECU information and ‘Manufacturer Database information’ data are different. The vehicle ECU information is already up to date and cannot be reprogrammed.

· A Blue Question Mark (?): TAC Support – The ECU data in the manufacturer’s database is missing and when attempting to reprogram, configure or replace the relevant module, a pop up will be displayed informing the user ‘TAC Server Software Exception, please contact TAC’. This is only required if the fault your team are investigating requires an update for the control unit with a question mark.

· Grey dash (- -): ‘Non-Force Reprogramming’ – The version of the data corresponding to the ECU function is inconsistent with the Manufacturer’s database. No need to operate the reprogramming or configuration function. If there is a complaint from the customer or a fault with the vehicle, an update can be completed, however, you will need to obtain a verification code through the SSNOW system > Diagnosis > VerificationCode

Thank you for your continued support to the brand, if you have any questions regarding installation or concerns post update, please contact @mg.co.uk

Hi, thanks to this thread i've updated my MG4 Trophy Extended Range !
EU/EH/MG/EH332/2023
First via the USB (waiting for the VNCI) than with SIPS
Hardware:
VNCI VDI3 (from Ali...)
Battery charger
Software:
Setup-SIPS-1_2025_8_7.exe
SAIC_VDI_III_Setup_V2.1.exe
VDS3_Setup-014.566.679.126_CDC.exe
VNCIMDIDevMngrSetup.exe
Subscription: 1 day

Questions:
From the ECU, on the Tbox for example, i see a different version but not a red cross.
Does it means that there is no update or should i make it anyway ?

And for the Front Detection Radar, i update it and the versions are the same
I rerun the ECU and was hoping to see no red cross but it's still there
What am i missing here ?

Thanks in advance
