Do you use GMaps on the car screen? (i.e. using Android Auto). If yes then the AA connection will automatically make a Bluetooth connection. :)

The problem (as I understand it) is that the MG4 may not use the same Bluetooth MAC address every time; if the MAC changes then the phone sees that as a different connection. So the problem is most likely not the phone but the software in the car. :) PS - it seems to be more of a Trophy spec...

The LR Excite is the SE LR in the UK. The very latest Info software for this model is SWI69-29958-1100R45 (there are links to this software on this forum, and it can be applied via USB), but I'd expect the car have as a minimum 1100R33. This you can easily check in the System menu of the car...

As a counterpoint ... a mate recently (i.e. last October ish) bought an Enyaq (82kWh version) as his first ever EV .. he was a committed petrolhead but business-wise an EV made far more sense .. and he loves it. He hasn't reported any issues with it.

R32 may well be quite up to date for a 75 plate Trophy ... remember that the SWI part is important too; that R32 is probably on the SWI33 software branch rather than the SWI68 branch.

You'd need to compare two cars (petrol and plug-in hybrid) that have the same petrol engine, for any comparison to be meaningful. :)

Just be aware that any update that affects TJA will be one that is applied via SIPS (the software used to update car module firmware via the OBD port) - the Infotainment software has no impact on this, as I the very latest available for the SE SR (on the SWI69-29958-1100Rxx branch).

I didn't update the TBox as I'm not having any issues with it. You also need SIPS to do it, even with the USB part being available. (This is mentioned earlier in the thread as I recall). I only did the 1100R45 update.

If the seat backs are folder down then the force is spread over a larger area - it's entirely feasible for the seat sensors to not go off in those circumstances. :)

Which specific model MG4 do you have? I know a former forum member (Jester27) rejected 2 SEs because the driver's seat in both had a "lump" that was perfectly positioned to cause him pain. Thankfully I've never experienced any such issue in mine in the 3+ years I've owned it.

The new MG4 uses NMC batteries - 64kWh or 77kWh. It's the Urban which uses LFP batteries, even the 64kWh version.

We don't have a flat finish grey MG4 in the UK ... it's a metallic coat. :)

14.4V means that the 12V charging circuit is active, without any other heavy load on the 12V battery (such as when the HVAC system is running).

On mine the 12V is charged when the HV is charging. In fact mine is charging right now and the app shows the voltage as 14.3V

Mine came via SMS (reminder) and email (with the V11 16-digit code), both this morning. If you're not signed up for electronic reminders then you should get the physical reminder through the post. :)

(Your MG4 won't be 4 years old ... 3.5 years at most) ;) But yes - speed is a big factor in overall efficiency, as drag change is proportional to the square of the speed change. (e.g. double your speed and the drag will be 4x higher).

Not by SIPS - just by USB. (I have an SE SR which was previously on 1100R38 and had been previously updated to that by my dealer, including the HVAC module update, in November 2024). There's nothing obviously different that I've seen at the moment, other than the screen seems a bit "snappier"...

The only "benefit" you can consider is that resetting it after a <10% to 100% + balance charge may give an indication of the state of health. :)

The predicted range is effectively calculated based on your Accumulated Total miles/kWh x your current SoC (based on your battery pack size and SoH). So if your miles/kWh says 3, and your 100% capacity is 50kWh then your 100% range would be 150 miles. In my SE SR this seems to pretty much...

Given that this model was quoted as having a 49kWh pack in the refreshed versions, vs the 51kWh (50.8kWh usable) ... I doubt that they fitted a different battery pack; perhaps the software interface changed so that the 0.2kWh buffer became a 2kWh buffer. :)

I should add ... whilst the SOH is reported as 90.66%, I'm not experiencing any noticeable reduction in actual range across the 3 winters I've had this car. I've certainly not lost almost 10% of real-world range.

For an LFP pack it's not that surprising ... after 1 year (actually 1.25 years from build) it was ~96%, after 2 years it was ~93%, after 3 years it was ~91%. So 90.66% now is pretty much as expected ... at the 4th service I suspect it'll be about 90%.

Sorry, I've only done the update then gone for lunch. I've not investigated re. any changes yet. (Mine was on 1100R38, so already had the revised HVAC screen etc).

If you drive at 110 or (better) 105 kph you'll find your mpkWh will improve. The additional travel time will be small (vs 120 kph), and you may even be able to skip a charge stop. :)

Bear in mind that the Excite (SE over here) does not have separate LKA and ELK - it's all one system. (i.e. it appears as Lane Keep Assist in the menus; there is no separate ELK setting as I believe there is in the Trophy spec, or whatever it is called over there).

If you activate the remote HVAC it powers up enough of the car to make it think it is On ... if you have wireless AA you can tell because your phone will try to connect once in range as one of the things that comes on is the USB ports. :)

DC charging bypasses the AC charger part of the CCU. ;)

Given that the nozzles will look the same from either view, / \ will be the same orientation ... it's just that the left/right nozzles will be swapped. If the arrangement was | \ then where you're sitting/standing will matter, but for / \ or \ / it doesn't. :)

Technically they don't ... what you mean is that pressing the brake pedal applies regen, until such time that the maximum regen level is achieved whereafter the physical brakes are applied. A subtle but important clarification. :) I do that usually when on longer journeys - set regen to minimum...

Hydrogen would never really work for planes - the energy density is nowhere near high enough, so a plane would have to carry far more weight in liquid hydrogen than it currently does in Avgas to achieve the same flying times/distances.

I'm sure that's been tried before - or maybe it was Trophy software on the SE. I think the advice was - don't do it. I see no reason whatsoever why a Trophy owner would want to use SE software. 🤷‍♂️ Fixed - you said SWI68 twice. :)

If they were delivering "no more than" 22kW and you were expecting more, then they weren't Type 2. Did you mean V2 superchargers? (Which you do need the Tesla app for, same as for the V3).
