maintenance

The technical meaning of maintenance involves functional checks, servicing, repairing or replacing of necessary devices, equipment, machinery, building infrastructure, and supporting utilities in industrial, business, and residential installations. Over time, this has come to include multiple wordings that describe various cost-effective practices to keep equipment operational; these activities occur either before or after a failure.

ZS EV and those hand car washes with pressure washers

I know this has been covered before but I can't find the thread. Maybe I'm putting in the wrong search terms. Anyway... We have a cheap hand car wash a minute away from us who used to do a brilliant job on our old non-EV. One of those car washes where you drive in, they cover it in snow foam...

Will we see a change of service level ?

In my opinion, MG presently sell cars on a model similar to Android phones. You get what you pay for, the car is designed to last for a set time, requiring minimal to zero support from the manufacturer, after which you throw it away. When I purchased my MG5, the service options were limited...

    First Service Report

A report back for info -mods - if this needs merging with other first service threads, that's fine with me. First off, one reads the horror stories some folk on the forum have regarding dealerships. We must be very fortunate, as Dicksons in Inverness has been the model of professionalism on...

    EO charger obsolete.

I have an EO Mini Pro charger fitted in Feb 2020. This ceased to function in Feb 2024 coincidentally at or about the same time that Juucenet/Enel x withdrew their software support. I have had to wait until now for an engineer to come and look at it (at my cost of £92.50 + VAT). They took one...

    Advise please (long term parking)

I got my lovely new ZS EV on the 1st March, just getting into the swing of it and I’ve broken my ankle. Unlikely to be driving it for a little while, is there anything I need to do or is it okay to sit on the drive looking pretty for a while?

Help! Facelift trophy model, 1 year 3 months old, front wipers stopped working entirely. Of course it's raining horribly. Turned off and on again and no change, left it off for half an hour to shut down entirely and no change. Anything I can do other than wait for the morning and call the...

When is a MG4s first service due?

We’re looking at buying a 18 month old MG4 with 7,000 miles on the clock from a non-MG dealer. The car hasn’t been serviced but the dealer is saying this isn’t due until 24 months. Does anyone know if this is correct? We’re mainly worried about the warranty being intact. Thanks in advance.

    Is it just me?

Does anyone else take everything out of the car before taking it in for a service? My brother and friends tend to leave all the paraphernalia in their cars when they take theirs to be serviced or repaired whereas I remove everything apart from a cloth to wipe the windows. I use it as an excuse...

That good ol' keeping the 12V battery perky thread repeat.

Had the squeaky bum moment this morning with the 12V battery showing 12.2 after just 6 days of ownership. Due to trying to be proactive and not end up with windows inadvertently being left down when I'm not with the car, I'd got into the habit of using the power off button in safety to totally...

    Shiny! (Clean car)

Sunday morning well spent, cleaned inside and out. I do like the Supagard cleaning pack that came with the car. Have added some additional items over the past year to make cleaning a lot quicker and easier. Still got to try their Paint Seal cream that another member recommended.

I've had my MG ZS EV for nearly a year from a lease company but I can't find the first service date anywhere. Only maintenance details on the dashboard. Can anyone direct me where I can find it. Thanks.

MG4 service planner on Google sheets

Hi, I had a maintenance logbook in GSheets for my old vehicle. I found it very useful (no software, data owner, easy sharing, auto backup, ...) Inspired by a BMW car sheet, I customized it quite a bit to adapt it to the MG4. Here it is! Everything is in English but I added an auto translation...

    Undertray broken off

Hi All, First message on this forum! I’ve had my MG4 long range for around 6 weeks and done just over 1k miles. Last night I noticed that something seemed to be dangling down from the underside of the car. I was shocked to find, when examining it closer today, that it appears that a large...

    10-100% charging

There is a thread in the MG4 section, which suggests that 10-100% charging is required every so often - apparently this is mentioned in the MG4 manual. I can't find anything in the MG5 manual that suggests that this is necessary - only charging to 100% and allowing equalisation to take place...
