I have done my first 1000 mile in my 5. It's good but some things are confusing me.
So does anyone know
1. Can you disable the door auto lock?
2. Is there any way of adding a rear interior light and maybe a driver's side sunglass holder on the roof lining, it's like things should be there...
I have a LR Exclusive on order (pick up on the 15th)
Reading some articles I see that the 5 has Battery cooling, but its not really mentioned anywhere in their publications
From what I read below, it possibly does.
Does anyone have more information ?
Article for reference

As many of you have noticed, the number plates supplied by several dealers have been a bit wonky.
As you can see, mine came with the black bar and happened to also overlap the MG5 badge:
I have devised a solution, which is to get a larger number plate.
The Chinese number plates use 140mm...
With the possibility of getting the new ZS gen 2 in November, I'm thinking about cancelling my MG5 LR Exclusive order. What's everyone's thoughts on if dealers will get deliveries in November/December this year? I am guessing that it'll be between £2,500-£3,500 more... so £27k after the affinity...
Did my first long range drive to Dorset on Saturday in torrential rain. Negotiated a few flooded roads that must have been 9" deep in water.
A bit concerned that the battery is underneath the chassis, but guess it's fully waterproof? Is it OK to drive through fords? Have to go through one in...
Hi
Loving my 5 (SR) and only done a few hundred miles so far, pottering about on the Isle of Wight. I have a PodPoint 7kw charger and did a full charge the other day, just to see what happens. I don't have a smartphone so couldn't use the app to monitor the charge. However, I do have a smart...
Today I found what I would describe as a fundamental fault with the keyless ignition system. I dropped my wife in town, then drove into the country to walk the dogs.
Just as I was about to switch off, I glanced down for the keys only to realise they were in my wife's handbag - yet it had let me...
So I have one of these tags Emovis Tag UK which are for the French Télépéage system.
The instructions show the following from the link:
Now on the MG5, there is basically no space that seems to fit exactly, so I was wondering if anyone has installed a tag and successfully gone through the...
Evening,
Longtime lurker with a first time post. I got my silver LR (my wolf in sheep’s clothing!) last week and have been very impressed so far. I’m in the process on getting a charge point installed so for the time being I am having to rely on using the granny charger. I am either topping up...
Hi All,
New MG5LR owner here. Moved over from e-golf.
I do like to use the cruise control, especially as a significant portion of my travel is often in 50 zones with average speed cameras.
I can't seem to find a way to increment or decrement the set speed by 1mph. Moving the stalk up and...
Hi folks,
My wife and I have a paid for joint bank account that offers breakdown recovery, phone insurance and travel insurance that covers us and our two children. For our family, these accounts are worth the £13-15/mth (£156-180/yr) fee to cover all four of us, but I appreciate they may not...
Just seen this on YouTube where someone has cracked the Engineering Mode and can, it seems, adjust the AirCon to Automatic. I've just done it on mine and it appears to work.
I've had my MG 5 for a couple of months now and on about 4 or 5 occasions I've seen the infotainment system restart.
What I mean by that is whilst driving I have noticed that the screen has gone black, then the MG logo appears.
Anyone else come across this?
Tom
The quoted 0-80% charge time is 50mins at 50kwh.
I would expect therefore 25mins on a 100kwh charger. However it quotes 40mins in a 100kwh charger.
The long range model is suppose to support 100kwh charging so not clear why the figures don't match?
sorry for the odd question, but noticed on my MG5 LR that the rear wiper looks a bit odd. it might well be "as designed" but the photo below shows you can see the internals / grease etc so i thought id check with you lot ;-) and see if this is how its supposed to look?
Anyone else noticed this
Evening, kind of pushed my luck tonight... well sort of! Left home at about 50% and did a 90 mile round trip - got down to about 9% when I got to the Gridserve on the services. Not a drop of volts left it, just said "connected, not charging" in the car. The rapid unit said something about...
