    Number plates.

Question for any MG5 dealers here. My rear number plate issue IS still unresolved. I was informed by MG Maidstone today that, the government issues the physical number plates to the dealer, and the dealer can only fit what they have been issued with. Thanks.

    3 Phase Upgrade

When I knew that I was getting an MG5, I phoned the DNO to ask them to check the service fuse rating. They said that as part of their commitment to low carbon technologies, if the maximum demand was greater than the limit for single phase, they would upgrade the supply to 3 phase. It was a...

    Dog guard and boot divider

First time EV owner here, and very pleased with my MG5 so far. I've got a question for the forum though. One of the reasons we got the MG5 is the possibility to put both luggage and our dog in the boot. I know MG sell a dog guard for the boot, but I was wondering if anyone could recommend one...

New to MG EVs - I have a few questions

We just took possession of a new MG5 EV Exclusive. We also have another EV, a Tesla Model S 90D. I'm reasonably impressed with the MG5. It doesn't compare to the Tesla in terms of features and tech but for the price (almost a third of the Tesla) it's a pretty good car. We have had the Tesla...

    Insurance ?

When I changed from a Merc E class estate to the MG5 my insurance for the Merc was around £700 per year, after getting into the MG my insurance remained pretty much the same, I then paid a bit more because I had tints fitted and an admin fee for private plates to be added. The insurer was esure...

    What jack should I buy?

Ok, I've done what a few others have and picked up an mk5 Golf spare wheel from Ebay for £25. The bolt pattern matches although the overall diameter is somewhat smaller; but it only needs to get me to the nearest tyre place so not a massive issue. Now I need to buy a jack, but there seems to be...

    Aftermarket Wheels

Hi all! I was bored over lockdown and did some photoshopping. I felt the 5’s skinny 16” wheels spoil the look a bit (along with the colossal right height), so stuck some alternative wheels on the configurator image. They are not very accurate, I tried to approximate 18” wheels, but used the...

    Starting an Excite

I am coming down on the side of an Excite, purely for financial reasons. I take it you just put the key in the ignition, same as my old Jazz, and start it like a conventional car? Manual only gives info for Keyless starting.

    Rear boot bike rack?

Can anyone help? I'm looking to get a rear bike rack for my MG5. Need space in the boot for the kids, too heavy to lift on the roof bars, so need a rear boot rack. As with most things MG5 EV doesn't show on any websites with compatible accessories... so what car would be as close to the MG5 EV...

    OHME Plug change

Hi, is it possible to remove a type two plug from an Ohme intelligent charger and replace it with a 32A commando plug and put a 32A commando socket on the wall with the mains on a 6mm cable via a isolation switch?
